Christ! Had my PC in the repair shop for the last couple of months, just to return to this mod and find out that it was taken down by some possesive mod devs. Bummer...

Part of me understands the need to claim some ownership over your hard work, but hogging content for a 20 year old game!? Come on! What a bunch of Divas.

Of course their hard work should be credited but modding is and have always been manipulating already existing content. This kind of ownership is for devs with original IPs, not a modding community. 99% of mods use other peoples assets, that's how it works.
Mods are already hard to make without having to do everything from the ground up and different modders have different areas of expertise. It would save everybody a lot of time and effort if we could be, you know, a COMMUNITY about releasing quality content. There is already long between good campagins of this caliber and BS like this just complicates the process further, resulting in longer wait-times between releases. Modding is not a zero-sum game, it's a collaboration.
This attitude is simply toxic to modding. Should ID Software ask the devs of Forgotten Hope 2 to take down their mod becuase they are using ID's assets, engine and universe? Or would that just be petty and mean since there is no money on the table?

If a kind soul has a copy and by "accident" were to DM me with a link i'd be forever grateful and send some karma their way.

Best of luck with your project going forward, Krot, vicpas, shurr, Yo$hik, Eugeny and WolfETPlayer!

Oh man! Just discovered that this even existed, only to find out that this glorious project can't be published. Bummer...

That's it?
They way people have rioted i was worried, we were talking removed levels and such. This is nothing, i'm sorry that you have to deal with this **** for essentially brushing up on the game and making it more tasteful.
Media.discordapp.net, stuff like this in what is essentially ww2-pulp is kinda immersion breaking (Even though I had a good laugh), in a way that the Ghosts, zombies, lazers and death robots aren't.
If it's solely stuff like that, which was cut then good riddance.

I just finished the museum level in paris and is does seem a little bland or tame, compared to what was before. You don't get that feeling of "Wow these guys i'm fighting are some sick bastards" like you did in the old version.
I would have prefered something else cool, like showcasing some nazi pseudo-science:Nordicism, Phrenology and eugenics.
pseudo-scientific archeology like the SS-Ahnenerbe expeditions: Grönhagen expedition (Finland), schulz-kampfhenkel expedition (Brazil), Wirth and Sievers expedition (Sweden), edmund kiss expedition (Bolivia), Bruno Schweizer expedition (Iceland), Hans Schleif expedition (Greece) and the famous Schaefer expedition (Tibet).
and bonkers historical theories:Mythical origins of the Teutonic "race" and Atlantis/hyperboria/Thule.
or maybe even super science: Wunderwaffe.

All in all, so far it is still my favourite version of the game, simply for running smooth as butter now and the addons are an awesome new addition, I can't wait to see what lies down the road, this opens up whole new avenues for the fandom

Just did! Looks great!

Most of them, at the moment, are a bit immersion breaking and arcadey. But the weapons pack and behavior addons sound cool.

Thank you
Sounds like it's still there then, i'll reach it in my own time.
It seems like it's just a lot of noise over what is essentially nothing.

Have a good one

Yeah, just played the first couple of hours and oh boy are the game optimization a big improvement, 3.1 is worth it for that alone.

But the "anti censorship" guys do have a point, those tweaks could be done without changing the other stuff, so i will propably consider it a different issue.

Even the texture work is low pixel and messy and you get the impression that they are placeholders to quickly cover what used to be there. I would have prefered that they instead have used this a an opportunity to do something else cool, like showcasing some nazi pseudo-science or maybe even super science.

All in all, so far it is still my favourite version of the game, simply for running smooth as butter now. But I have to ask.
Is the concentration camp level still there? It was one of my favourites in my first playthrough.

Haha am I a bad person if i found that funny?

A bit silly that it is downright illegal, but a modern meme in what is essentially ww2-pulp is kinda immersion breaking, in a way that the Ghosts, zombies, lazers and death robots aren't.
If it's solely stuff like that, which was cut then good riddance.

(buried)

I am hearing a lot of complaining about the new 3.1 version, but what are the actual changes?
Also a lot of long-winded statements, apologies and explanations, but how about a simple no nonsense change log that specifically addresses the "Replacement and improval of edgy and sensitive content"?
Can someone give me a quick rundown of what they added or removed and if the latter what they replaced it with?

I thoroughly enjoyed the concentration camp level, it reminded me of older games like prisoner of war and the great escape. I hope that level stays in.
Some posters in the museum were a bit ahistorical, since they were kind of vulgar and crass.
The Nazis were racists and had pretty f...ed ideas about other people and cultures (Understatement of the year), but they also considered themselves high cultured individuals and gentlemen. For a world exposition it would probably be more fitting to see more glorification of the Teutonic "race", pseudo-scientific archeology and bonkers historical theories, rather than propaganda posters that usually had the common man or soldier as their intended target. The holocaust was also not marketed publicly like that.

Edit:
What's up with the instant dogpiling and comments like "Downvote all who are pro censorship"?
It's a comment section, not a popular vote and we discuss things here. I didn't even say wether I was for or against the changes, I simply asked for an honest to god changelog of the removed content...
I'm still playing the 3.0 version and was wondering if it was worth it to make the switch to 3.1.

After looking through the comment section, it's clear that you self declared "Anti-censorship" nitwits are not doing your side any favours with your temper tantrums. Modding the old content into a new version shouldn't be that hard, you already have what you want, so make a subreddit or discord channel and f... off.

I award you no points and may god have mercy on your souls

Thanks that is a handy list, it at least partially solves the mapname problem. But you are still forced to play on normal when using /spdevmap. For some reason a console command for difficulty was never implemented in RTCW...

I am aware of the /spdevmap workaround, it's not what i asked about though, unless i have overlooked something.
With /spdevmap you miss the intro cutscenes in some of the mods and you can't choose difficulty, moreover it's quite annoying to dig through the game files to find the addons map names.

Enable cheats across the board?
Is there a way to enable cheats, that doesn't include directly spawning into a map, thus skipping cutscenes and forcing you to play on normal difficulty?

It's also quite a hassle to dig through the files of the addon-campaign's files to find the map names.
