Makes sense. I really don't have a lot of use for the equipment now, anyway.

Is that the one with the Monolith members in it? I'll keep looking, but I thought I'd been through that building, unless at some point I accidentally killed him. D:>

Howdy! I have an update as well as a question.

The "Buffer overflow" error I was experiencing went away after progressing some more. I can't be sure, not knowing exactly what causes it, but the issue might've come from my having several backpack stashes in various locations with a lot of items in them. The game might not have liked having to keep track of all that inventory. I suspect this because it happened after emptying and losing a backpack I kept outside of X-18 and after rediscovering a backpack I kept in RADAR that had a lot of stuff in it that I've begun removing. These may not have been the actual triggers, but I can speculate.

The question is: where is Syak? The guides indicate he's in Pripyat but offer no specifics. I apparently need a code from him. Thank you kindly in advance. Also, big WOOT for new micropatch! Christmas came early.

Fair. Thanks! Glad he's contained in the Labyrinth.

I found myself in the Labyrinth seeking a box but am contending with a seemingly unstoppable creature called Shadow of Monolith. Is this guy supposed to be invincible? I was not expecting him.

Sorry to keep bugging y'all with directions favors.

I got into lab X-8 but have forgotten what the code is. I went to the scientist at the Bar and got the PDA decrypted in exchange for a Kolobok, but I can't find an item in my inventory or a note in my PDA saying what the code actually was. I think I'm stuck without it, for there's no way through the heavy door but the keypad. The guy and Strelok chatted as I entered the place, so I think I'm on the right track.

Yes, although the directions for preparing the OGG's would be virtually the same as for things like Zone Radio for CoC and whatnot, except you just need to rename the files and access a different folder. Out of all the songs I had prepared already for that mod, only one didn't work for this one, and that might've just been a goof on my part.

The one thing I'd offer caution for regards memory. For some reason, my files are almost all about double the size as those already in the mod itself. If someone's frame rate/stability is teetering on the edge beforehand, having bigger files prepared in the music player could slow things down.

But yeah, nothing quite like listening to "The Boxer" by Simon & Garfunkel while arena fighting, "Superunknown" while dueling a pair of chimerae, or "The Hand that Feeds" while getting ambushed by bloodsuckers.

Fortunately, I was! I think the issue was: I had totally forgotten, since April, all about what The Informant had told me, so I had largely ignored all progress that could be made there but was still able to venture into Pripyat, Chernobyl, and so on.

All the major backtracking I had to do was purely geographical, which was I was doing anyway for a number of quests pushing forward.

Update: Hey, thanks! I think finding Le Havre was all I needed, and I must've forgotten about looking for him.

1/ Thing is, I'm not even looking for the codes to get into X-8. I can't even get to *the Generators* yet. I can't travel beyond Jupiter.

2/ This plays into my third point about Sakharov, I think. I don't think I can talk to him until Sakharov allows me to discuss the missing person, which he keeps telling me is classified.

No, I don't believe I have met Le Havre.

I'm afraid I'm a little stuck. I have three quests that seem relevant toward story progress and getting to other maps, but I'm lost as to how to continue progressing.

The head scientist in Jupiter wants me to go to lab X-8, but I cannot go there.
Zahar the Hunter at the Bar tells me to come back later when I ask about how to get to Limansk.
Professor Sakharov insists that asking about the missing person is confidential information.

I can fill in on what quests I *have* completed, but I'm a bit confused by the web of questlines posed in the guides in order to determine what I've yet to complete.

Totally unrelated to my last post, but it might be worth mentioning. The ogg files I used in other mods featuring radio/music players worked when I replaced the files in the "ogg_player" folder with them. The song names don't change in the music player, obviously, but it does make my travels more enjoyable. Didn't care so much for most of the music on the flash drives I've found so far.

I did find him, although it didn't occur to me to look around. I think I found what you were referring to. Played a spooky tune when I walked on the piano to get out of there.

I found one in a red Electro. Didn't find anything anywhere else except a wood box inside a truck down there that yielded three portable springboard anomalies and two bloodsucker embryos. I found one empty container inside a train car. I'll keep looking down there since I'm safe, but I'm not sure where this "trophy room" you're referring to is.

Thanks for the tip.

I do stand corrected. Went back down with an excessive amount of ammunition and killed every spider down there in case one of the spiders might've swallowed the black crystal or something. Those little spiders don't yield anything, but they really are OP. Best strategy is to just run around them.

I did find a black crystal: in the area where most of the spiders are, the big open room, there is a way that leads down a short passage. I found the black crystal in the middle of a red Electro anomaly. The spider parts are only on the big spiders, which is sort of fortunate as they're easier, but the small spiders make looting them tricky if you're not filled with spider hate like I was.

It's actually not an issue of crashing. NS has been very stable for me, actually, both before and after the updated patches put on.

Whenever I arrive at a new map location, a message in red letters appears. Something to the effect of "Attention! Buffer overflow. Artefact transmutations will not work. It is advised you reload previous save." At that point, it wasn't really worthwhile going back. I actually haven't obtained the transmutator item yet, but I certainly have recipes for transmutation, although the game doesn't seem to want to take what I have, given the message it displays.

On totally separate notes, I appreciate a few of the changes I've noticed in the recent patches. I like the magazine capacity boost to the Kriss Vector. I also like having a couple extra artefact slots. Useful since I have about four Plasma Caterpillars.

If there's one point for improvement I might offer: there is an issue with the smaller spiders in the way from Eastern Pripyat to Jupiter. The baby spiders (both in the April patch and November patch, so far as I can tell) won't die. I did a couple mag dumps into the baby spiders just to be sure, and they seem invincible, whereas the bigger spiders are mortal.

Speaking of which, I was given a quest by the scientist in Jupiter to find about some spider parts and an artefact called "Black Crystal." I couldn't find information on this in either of the guides. I know I probably have to go back down there where the spiders are (the game refers to "The Overpass"), but I have no clue where to look for the artefact there, especially with all the nasty spiders lurking about.

Howdy! Just got back into playing the mod after a long hiatus. Was last on the April Patch when I last played. I like some of the changes I'm seeing already. Really appreciate the extra artifact slots.

Recently I've run into an issue with the game telling me the buffer has overflowed and that the transmutations are a no-go. I can't really afford to back into an early save. I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there anything I can do to remedy this besides reloading an older save? Is this a memory issue?

Hello! Got another couple things I thought I should mention.

In the Encyclopedia entries for artifact transformations, it says, in order to make Ruby Spring and Ruby Battery, they should be left in Fruit Punch anomalies, in their respective entries. This did not work for me. However, putting each of these into a *Blizzard* anomaly did work. Maybe the entries could be corrected?

Note: I did not investigate the corresponding entry for the Ruby Pellicle artifact. Been busy and haven't needed one, honestly.

If I break the engine, I'll just buy a new one.

Jokes aside, I've run into another issue: upon speaking to the scientist about decoding the flash drives, he sends me to speak with a guy named Arhara in the Agroprom. While the location is marked on my map, when I go back behind the Military base, there is no one there, and there are some random items hanging around a campfire. I'm not sure what to make of this or what to do about it. I tried leaving the area and returning, reloading a previous save, and just dying and coming back, but none of these made him appear. Might he be elsewhere? My minimap doesn't tick in the presence of a new STALKER when I approach the marker, so I'm guessing he's not there.

I consider that within the realm of possibility. XD

On the other hand, much walking can spared by circumnavigating these areas instead of changing it back...

I think I encountered something strange. For reference, I've upped carry weight to a degree in my play.

There are a couple of places I've run into where the Marked One drops a substantial part of his inventory for no reason. Two of these places I've encountered so far are: just a little beyond the entrance to Lake Yantar (approaching the laboratory, where I currently am in my playthrough) and the opening in the fence at the Rookie Village in Cordon. For the latter, it's where, if you're returning to the Rookie Village, and you're just about to head to Sidorovich, you pass a gap in the fence before entering a small alcove where his bunker's entrance is. I find that I've been able to avoid this nuisance by walking around the village and simply approaching Sid's bunker from the north, but I haven't had the chance to circumnavigate it at Yantar. Is this a bug?

(Finally!) The weekend before finals week has arrived for me.

Been dying to play for weeks, and here I find there are couple new updates since I last took interest! Will definitely be playing this weekend and next week between studies and exams. So far, looks very clean! Modified a few values I typically do for STALKER: knife reach, some values related to exhaustion. We'll see how this goes! I'll let you know if anything odd happens!

I'm new to this mod. I'm also a college student in my last semester before graduation.

A question: should I start playing this mod, or is it so engrossing that I might not pass this semester and should save it as something to look forward to by May?

Thanks in advance! :D

You really shouldn't have to sell the Barman 200 AK-74's or 74u's in order to buy one upgraded stalker outfit. Modded a little to change that but still grew bored within the first day of play. Just get modpack 2013.
