This really felt like I was playing Half-Life 2's beta, or at least what would come of it if it had been developed more. It's a great mix of ideas and concepts from the beta combined with new ideas and things from retail. The levels are richly detailed and atmospheric. My only gripes are the lack of combat, which I hope there's more of in future episodes. Also, it would be nice to have a small, modified hud that still displays all the info (sprint/flashlight charge) rather than getting rid of most of the hud. And the voice acting varies from good to awful (the vortigaunt VA sounded like they were using a cheap mic). Otherwise, this is a great interpretation of the HL2 beta that I recommend to any Half-Life fan.
This game is pretty much as close to perfect as you can get.
