It is very confusing but it is by far the most impressive map I've ever played in Unreal.

Installed it. Currently playing it. I find it's highly enjoyable and superbly executed! Scripting and mapping are beyond anything I've seen before for Half-Life. It feels like an authentic experience... So it could literally be an official expansion in my opinion.

If your goal is to "remaster" this game to a certain extent, you would do well to download this mod. It greatly improves the shaders. And the particle effects are about as impressive as Ultimate Weapons. (They perform better in this mod I'd say.)

I must say I'm impressed with this series! I highly recommend it. Decent storylines, excellent level design, fun and engaging gameplay.

This is the mod that keeps me playing Max Payne 2. I prefer this one over Payne Evolution. It's got a ton of great features such as fabulous visual effects that amp up the gunfights considerably (in fact the feeling is greater than in any game I've played, even recent ones), there are gibs, dismembered bodies, you can slit throats with the knife, there are extra campaigns included with it, etc.
