WOW! I just found this and haven't even started playing yet. But I'm already incredibly impressed with the PROFFESIONAL level presentation in every way. This has AAA written all over it.

Very fun and interesting mod.

The foliage textures are pretty rough, probably for performance sake. Lots of pop in. But you can add a texture folder from any HD mod like Absolute Nature, and it looks much better.

Another solution could be a winter mod to just remove the grass. But the .22 version here crashes the newest version of the mod.

I ALWAYS have to edit this manually in the actor.ltx, whenever I build a new Stalker install. Which is a minor hassle.

I figure purists wouldn't care for that, because stalker is supposed to be more methodical, its not just a cartoon run and gunner. Thats probably why there is no always sprint option. But I just turn walk up to the sprint level, so I dont have to hold the sprint button.

Very beautiful game, the art is lovely.

The controls are difficult, but top down shooters are always a difficult control scheme. Movement is no problem with a controller, but how to aim at the same time? You cant use two sticks, its too awkward.

It has to be designed around using the mouse to aim, AND move IMO. And construction menu's, have to be done with a mouse. Its too much to have to do heavy menu navigation with a controller.

On PC, I feel this has to be mouse based. For movement, shooting and menu's. But the concept and the graphics are all wonderful. Its a work of art.

Also a difficulty mod. :) Halloween appropriate. Would go good with horror sound mods.

Interesting. Thats my favorite design theory, is keep everything in the perfect middle zone, between the most functionality to do anything that you need, and the minimal clutter inbetween you accesing it. You want the sweet spot, you dont want to loose functionality, but as simplified as water.
