Is it just me or does this map remind anyone of Alan Wake? I just realized XD
don't worry I'll add raid to future maps, just I'm having problems with rain rendering in background maps.
basically the idea of this map is that inside the house is a small trap door that leads to a weapon bunker. I was thinking to make the game start here, after the player receives a radio call from the leader of the Eridani squad. The player would then take the buggy and navigate into the canyon you can see (sloping down, after the bridge).
To tie it all with the HL2 story, the player would get rid of the buggy by delivering it to a rebel outpost on the city coast, in case a doctor needs it.
all right well good news for CapRaider, been trying to make the rain work for over an hour, and it doesn't work. So for now, no rain yay!
I'll post a screen of the sunrise one.
problem is the HDR skyboxes, there's a nice sunrise effect but the clouds don't match the rain, and then this one's good for rain but the HDR is not very visible.
what would you guys rather see? Rain or a nice HDR sunrise effect?

@Everyone who's coming here to bitch about me using Creative Commons licensed material:
a) save yourself the time to post anything, it'll just be deleted.
b) it's my personal decision to choose models licensed under the CCL, so that I may focus on the coding and level design.
c) don't like it? I don't care, I like my mod the way it is, so **** off.
yeah giving it a blue tint was what I was thinking of, since the scope lenses are blue :P
Something that would definitely look good, once I get the hang of shaders (it might be a bit too hard) but an effect like Perfect Dark, where you can clearly see the enemies' outlines, like this: Xboxgazette.com
Maybe not the skeletons but something like that :P

For now like I said I'm taking care of the coding, but as soon as its done I'm hitting the story line trail hard!
Well I wanted to keep it simple. I'll probably work on something more extravagant, maybe with animations...

huh? The model is in the beta and it's code never really got taken out of the Source code.
Well actually I'm still having some bugs with the scope, which is why I didn't show it, I'll probably implement a 5 or 6 degrees spread when out of zoom and a perfect shot spread when using the scope.

Still can't believe this is a modding site and almost no one has heard of the Creative Commons licenses... many skins at fpsbanana.com use that license.
I took the SWEP one with all appropriate permissions from the author, but I'll have to do all the coding in C++... oh joy :)
If anyone has experience in modeling please send me a PM, this model has some errors I need help fixing...
working on that, but getting the permissions if the hard part, leave the coding to me :P
