A Source modder, waiting for Source 2.
That was pretty cool, gotta say it was impressive. The atmosphere was perfect, and the level design simply beautiful in many areas. Though, I do have a few, albeit minor complaints. In some areas there were holes in the geometry (noclip) that were very easy to see, or even to reach. At some points the lighting was very dark, though it may be my brightness settings, so that probably was just me. Some of the fights felt a little bit to soon for it, but otherwise it was good. I also felt that the 2nd chapter map had a bit more in terms of atmosphere, I think it was because of the fog, but I'm not sure. Another thing that was strange was the transitions, in which the screen fades out, which is a bit disorienting at some times, but for the most part it worked well.
Overall, thought that was a excellent demo, and anticipate future updates as well, nicely done.
Just so everyone knows, the link to our files for the actual mod are here: Drive.google.com
Posters on the columns look a bit out of place, still nice though.
Oops, forgot to login lol.
Dang, that's pretty amazing looking. Practically better than the concept art in Raising the Bar itself!
Been working on the demo, estimated time of finish is around when we are going to do the next update. Want to say around end of month, but can't be exact. The demo will be part demo/benchmark, to see if the level geometry can be run on low to medium end PCs. The demo however will be pushing detail to a very far extent, along with some gameplay, showing off animations/models and textures for the crowbar/ pistol.
Expect some news soon, perhaps, with a demo/benchmark.
From time to time we'll check back on it, but I don't think it's the current priority.
Nice work, the subtle differentiation gives it a more Portal 2 look.
I'd go with the Portal 1 model. Something about the Portal 2 model has always looked ugly to me.
Lol. Yeah, think we'll have a update out soon. Think we're going to do a pretty big one all at once, but I'm not sure atm.
Very interesting mod, the level design looks fairly nice for early versions. Though, I'd recommend getting a few team members, it'll help in the long run, I think.
Ahh, the Weebly, I forgot about that. Thanks for mentioning it though, if I can, I'll try and make an article about the Arcade and the Subterranean levels.
Mr.Sugar is most certainly correct, media updates require careful planning and forethought. For example, maps generally aren't debuted until they are in a working/visually appealing state. Gameplay demos usually won't be shown until the scene is finalized, and their aren't any noticeable faults. I'm sure the mod will get an update, and when it does it will be quite the show.
Yep, from what I can tell, we'll be including the Antlion King.
Thank you very much for positive response! I hadn't done much to the panel texture overall, however. I simply changed the hue of the blue from blue-ish green, to blue, and added light bars on the top (which can be covered with a brush). All of this is properly selfillumed aswell.
Simply amazing. I would offer help, but their is not much help I could give to such a talented team of people. Wonderful work.
I agree as well, expect a video sometime tomorrow.
Ignore the name
I have somewhat good mapping skills, when does the contribution start?
Yeah I'm still trying to redo the name as I don't just want to do F-Stop, although I'm open to suggestions.
Don't worry the concept is still here, I'm just replacing this with the animated version. I'm also getting rid of the motel room to.
Not sure, although from the concept art you could piece it together a little bit. Since the story wasn't released I'll just have to make one up that fits it the best.
Well I decided to completely remove this room, and discontinue working on it. Although just to your luck, I will be uploading a pack of maps in a bit that has things that I think just don't fit. Two early intro maps and some other things.

Yes, although that map with the animations might come separate from the actual game due to the amount of time it will take.
