What could make it work would be to have specific weapons for larger scale skirmishes that would be different from the normal 1v1 weapons.

I kind of hope your kidding... Garrys Mod is on Steam, you can buy it there. $10 is no big deal, your buying internet for like $70 a month.

Hey, you know those red things that appear on all sides of your crosshair indicating which side you've been shot in some First-Person Shooters? Well, maybe you could use that, but instead of showing were you get shot, it could show enemies close or within striking distance. Now, if you were going for realism, I would suggest that method would only show the enemies in your line of vision, but maybe you could make it show people behind you as soldiers in the middle ages must have smelled due to lack of running water and soap :P well, you get the picture.
Also, I feel that the guardsman is overpowered, when I play as it, I get plenty of double and triple kills. It's slow, but it's block is just as fast as any other class, and it's attacks are more powerful than the Crusader with more reach, and with the block, it stuns the enemy just in time for you to score a shot.
It's pretty good, but the one thing that's hard to get past is how you have to keep moving AND hitting opponents without hitting your own team, and I have a simple solution: Removing ranged classes. Now, I'd hate to see that happen, but age of chivalry can be quite a snipe fest, maybe even removing the crossbow class would solve that problem, or reducing the accuracy of ranged classes, but one thing for sure, Ranged classes are overpowered, because you have to get through several enemies to get to them.
I love it but just one thing: You have to be constantly moving and not just stationary, maybe when your in combat you should move slower because I don't think real medieval swordsmen danced circles around each other until one of them got decapitated.

Actually that is what a beta is for, because then you will have more people helping to point out bugs.
