Yay! \o/ Downloading it now!
Sorry, I mean Bentraxx. Used to calling him Gecko from the forums.
Interesting to note that many (if not all textures)have been updated but the health shields and light gem are still the old ones, as shown in the screenshots. Not a big deal, I'm just noticing that they aren't updated.
With permission, the light gem from CoSaS Mission X would be a good replacement. There's also the health shields from that mission, although they are not quite as "faithful" to the original health shields by LGS. I guess it's really an artistic decision, and even if Gecko doesn't want to change them, we could easily do it ourselves. :)
ARGH the waiting is unbearable. I really hope this comes out before I'm an old man. Such tease with the screenshots!
There's another fan patch available for System Shock 2 and Thief 2:
Thief 2 v1.22 (NewDark Patch)
Great mod! However, if I'm honest it's a little brutal at times and can be frustrating. (I think I was playing on the "Hurt Me Plenty" difficulty of Doom.)
Let's just say the boss actually made me ragequit as he kept killing me. I did get to see the epilogue and credits though. Overall, a very impressive and well done mod. Surprised at the amount of levels for this thing too! Was also pleasantly surprised that there was no requirement of crouching or jumping, which was perfect IMO because I like to play with crouching/jumping off. (There was one EXIT that I thought you needed to crouch but I then found out you just had to shoot it.)
There's a reason for that. I believe one of (if not more of) the developers of TS are working on this game.
So, are you guys going to change the HUD graphics eventually? I mean, to be honest I think the HUD graphics are pretty bad. Big red rectangles for health? And bullets pictures for counting bullets?
The idea is kinda cool by having bullets instead of an ammo number count, but the image for the bullet seems "pre-release" quality. And yes, I'm aware this is a WIP mod, but it has been through several iterations now and I'm just curious if any of the HUD stuff will be updated in the future.
Yarr, this be a cool mod matey! Thanks! Tracked
Edge engine? Never heard of that one. Is that relatively new?
There are not new missions, just fixes for existing missions.
It's for Thief Gold. Says that right in the name of the download.
Constance on TTLG had a problem with part2 as well. I wasn't using a download tool, just my browser. My unpacking software shouldn't be at fault, it's 7-zip.
Fair warning - The Part2 download from Moddb mirror seems to be borked. I've downloaded it twice and 7-zip is reporting a broken file. I suggest trying another mirror if you don't want to risk it.
I thought this was going to be posted on the downloads page on moddb. Is it still being processed?
Looks like it won't actually release until 10 December. Or at least, not until then in my time zone.
Changing textures won't change the lighting, unless he bakes in lighting into the textures. I don't think the textures had baked-in shadows. Then again, I'm no texture expert and I don't know for sure what the difference between a baked texture and a non-baked texture would be. I'm just going off my observation of having played Thief.
Curious to know how this is being created. I know it's using the quake engine but I'm wondering what map editor is being used to put the map together. I ask because I'm curious about modding on a psp and might like to try it out.
Man, all the teasing with these media updates. Looks so good, but I seriously have to ask, is this thing ever coming out?
I didn't read Features when I first came here because I expected you to put actual information into the Summary area. It only HELPS, not HURTS. Convenience. I shouldn't have to go searching to find out basic information on the mod. I understand putting all information into another area, but a better basic summary would be nice. The main page of your mod is your selling point. If you don't present your product right off the bat in such a way that I want to get it, then I lose interest or am unclear as to what is being offered. That being said, you're right, I didn't properly read through the mod profile and now that I have I have a better understanding.
I hope this comes out this decade :P
Disclaimer: It's a joke. Don't get mad.
Sorry, I justdouble-checked the features page on GTAForums and I see that a some features are not completed - they're in red. My bad.
I'm not sure what I did wrong, but this mod doesn't seem to be working properly - unless it's just incomplete. I don't see any new keybinds for the new actions, like calling for backup for example. (From what I read.) I also can't find an option to save either.
When I look at a mod page, I look at the SUmmary first and foremost, and it's very vague. I didn't think to look at features. You don't help yourself by hiding information on another page, and you also don't help yourself by being a jerk.
I pretty much forgot the mod was going to orange box - which I already read about on the site some time ago. I guess I'll have to give that a shot.
First off, fantastic moddb theme!
So I used to play this mod a lot, back when it was still popular. I really did enjoy it, and I love the whole theme and concept of it. In fact, I really think this could be made into a singleplayer storyline game. I wonder if Team Dystopia has ever considered it.
Anyway, I've pretty much quit playing this mod because last time I played it it was rather empty, and the people that do play are so hardcore that it's frustrating for people who aren't any good. (Like me.) If only more people played this (I admit I haven't checked in a while) it'd get my interest again. I feel like the mod has basically become a niche mod and that it really only appeals to "supporters" because they get benefits. Which I guess is nice, it's great to see a mod team support their fans. I know it sounds rather harsh, but this is what I see to be the case with the current state of things.
The description of this mod is very vague. I'd like to know in more detail what it is.
I like how it gives the feel of you actually being in a terminator situation like the first movie where you see flashbacks( flashforwards?) to Reece's time fighting the terminators.
Yeah, I tried it and not only is it very laggy (there's no options to decrease the graphics in this) but I had no idea where to go. I'm sorry but I had to uninstall this. I know it's just an alpha, and on a positive note it looks fantastic - but I just can't play this.
