The answer to your non technical questions is the FAQ article. I was upset with the ring heroes to but their explanation makes a lot of sense and makes the game more true to the lore.

I guarantee you its a false positive. Just make an exception or disable the antivirus during the download ans instalation

I don't know your problem specifically but every time I had a problem installing these mods and updates one thing that always resolved it was installing everything again from the top. Literally from BFME 2. Its a pain yeah. Its only solution I know

That happened to me. I uninstalled everything, even the BFME II and Rise of the Witch King, and installed it all again and it worked.

Uninstalling everyhting, down to the BFME II, and instaling it again worked for me

Hi, First of all thanks for everything you've been doing with this mod. I've been loving to play it.

One thing with this 4.0. I installed the v8 and the 4.0 after. But when I click on the shortcut it shows the initial ROTWK banner and the I get a black screen and game just closes without any error or message. Any help for this? Thanks
