"Distribution Platform" - correction

I see your point but at least you have dosbox as an option today. I enjoyed many dos games when I used Win95 but after upgrading to Win98 it was hell.

Modern Windows is indeed very intrusive. Which is why I go to great lengths to make it behave properly, but if certain software doesn't agree with my philosophy then we are destined to have a very short relationship. Oh I still play games I just wont support the developers or get new releases as often. :/

With Steam games take hours to download. After a few days games often will just stop working completely. Look for Securom or Starforce on your computer because you likely have more than one corrosive registry entry if you use Steam. I've had 4 run ins with Steam in the past and each time it got worse. I refuse to tolerate it again. My current version of AVP works fine including multiplayer over LAN but I haven't tested the online function. A search of google returns 13,400,000 results for steam related errors. When it comes to computer security and freedom nothing about it is petty.

I hear the argument a lot that people don't have problems with it. Good for you but ads, spyware, drm, data mining, and all that don't set well with me so I personally won't support a software distribute platform which has a detrimental experience attached to the simplicity of wanting to play a game.

I hoped the late Sold out software release would work. I did read the description. Steam is a content management/delivery system so I'm not why its necessary? Did Steam patch the game themselves to work on modern operating systems? It's a real shame the freedom to play games without intrusive, slow, buggy software has been taken away from mainstream PC gamers. Since I own the game maybe a Nosteam torrent with all the updated files will work? Fingers crossed because this project looks fantastic!

The engine is open source and programmed from scratch by a team of Russian programmers. Making a free game using your own code is not grounds for a law suit. Student projects and educational multimedia is fair use long as it's non profit.

I really want to play this but the non-turn based battles look pretty ridiculous. Turn based is the only way to have some strategy and tactics otherwise it's just spam. Regardless of my feelings I want this to go back online.

In love with how this game looked back in the day, but now even more! Great job!

I always imagined playing Morrowind with like 4 friends. This would be a dream come true. This was the best Elder Scrolls game second to only Daggerfall.

Looks like a neat block game. Thankfully not programed with Java so the FPS will be smooth and it won't melt graphic cards. I really like the addition of the editor for user made content. Keep up the great work!

If a 3D Mahjong is the best they can showcase for professional project, then that's pretty sad. I remember when DB first came out, it tantalized me as a kid because it offered a way to make games within one neat package. It has "professional" in it's name so it must be good right? I don't doubt you could make a great game with it but after trying it off and on for years I would have to say skip this language. FPS creator was one such abomination created by this same group. It was a great idea but the end result was quite poor. Try DB and any games made with it and see for yourself.

I don't think BREED used any of the Blitz products. The engine behind it was named the "Mercury Engine" so this is a simple mistake.

Very nice I can easily see with your results the time and dedication that went into this. Personally I'd like you to develop the game in something other than RPG maker but either way good luck with this.

I like this a lot. I see no problems with using only the CPU for these models. If you use any fancy effects you will have much better results offloading the work to a GPU but considering the low poly nature of the game you should be fine.

Oh my this is trippy and nostalgic. Just the way I like it! I will defiantly be using a CRT monitor to play this.

Only could play through this once. After my first launch the program reported problems when I exited. Each time I try to run it now it loads without the title graphics, much of the gui is missing, and in game I see the map from an overhead perspective. Apparently what I am seeing is the game running without 3d graphics. From what I was able to play it was enjoyable. Things I would fix would include: Getting stuck on 3d objects, enemies that don't always face the player, and tweaking the graphics. I like the idea of a pixel/retro FPS but work on a central theme or style.

Can this work without Steam? I'd rather not have a DRM system trolling my computer with ads and other nonsense. Hopefully it's as easy as moving a few files around, now excuse me while I got dust off my copy of AVP. I have the Sold out Software release.

Scaling looks off in regards to player size but this is a amazing achievement for a port of the old Doom engine. Nice job!

Now this is more like it! Turning Fallout into an FPS was a terrible idea. Hopefully this will get a host soon.
