Things to report/say/nag about >.<

- I *think* EP1 still looping at the end (I say *think* because I tested only by using cheats since the old save file could cause some conflict right?) ;

- Aaaand the SSAO seems to not being disabled completely, I see it flickering on and off even when the option is unchecked, resulting a bunch of stuff looking translucent-ish.

Other than that, the new shadows are quite nice! And so are the God/Sunrays.

Disable the "Combine Better Aim", it is much, much better for close quarters combat.
Also, have 4 turrets on that section is a must.

Yeah, that is a good point I've forgot to mention, I guess Gordon hitbox is expanded.

I don't know if you notice (or if I'm out of my meds and imagining things) but I got stuck on the geometry a lot. I don't recall that happening much on Vanilla.

Took me some time but I finally finished HL2!

On to words!

I cannot overstate enough, I love this mod through and through.
Fantastic addition to immersion, gunplay, audio, graphics and most important customization.
It really elevated HL² for me. I thought it was impossible to love this game even more, welp, I was wrong! <3
I wish I was eloquent enough or have more free time to go into every single detail that really makes this mod tingle for me. It is so subtle and yet is makes a whole word of difference, I was grinning at every little thing I've come across while playing. I was gushing so much during the release but idgaf I'll do it again! MARK YOU ARE AWESOME!

Criticism(s):

The difficulty -

Up until New Little Odessa, I've had the most awesome firefights I've had in a while. It really elevates the combat to such a challenging degree, makes you think tactically, which Vanilla HL² never did. Moving around more, keeping track of where each soldier is, taking a more careful approach when turning corners or opening doors (I've lost track of how many times I got a grenade or a Pulse Rifle energy Ball on my gormless face).

But, soon as I've reached Nova Prospeckt and the enjoyment turns into a not so good experience. My guess is that the problem is due to the closed-quarter nature of the levels past the beach. Reaching the prison was miserable on the hard difficulty, the dual Gunships coupled with the Gunners was awful.

My tip is, either play on Normal and/or disable the "Combine Better Aim" on the Mod Config Menu( YMMV also applies here of course).

The "Better Aim"+ Hard Difficulty is just too much at some point.
The shotgunners are relentless, coupled with your weapons doing less damage and you receiving more, and it is a really bad time.
(Though, partial blame goes to Valve tbh. The hard mode even on Vanilla was garbo. Dumping an entire magazine and the enemy barely flinching was always awful).

Bug(s)?-

Honest, apart from the initial release, I can only report one bug. That one on Entanglement. The teleporter is ready, Alyx goes in, and when Gordon goes in, the script don't start.

Though, loading the save did the trick.

And a curiosity, don't know if it is a bug or not: The initial load screen transitions are in? Mine remains the Station Square on City 17, I kinda miss having the different screens during the playthrough.

Other than that, I don't have anything else to add other than LOOOOOOOOOOVE.

Now, on to the Episodes!

Use the latest patch, you don't need to switch anything anymore.

Plus, make sure everything regarding HL2, Episodes, Update and SDK 2013 are on beta.

I don't know if would help everyone but I'm having a no issue experience so far.

I have 2013 SDK installed and on Beta/upcoming;
I have all HL² + Episodes + Update on Beta channels;
Deleted all saves and configs on their respective folders (a.k.a. started fresh)
Steam+Library all in one drive;
