Among the most professional amnesia missions I ever played totally recommended the developer is very talented.

The Journey

Mod review

This mod is just not for me, way to much, imo boring walking around. Gameplay pushed by a very flimsy quest goal that lacks the pull to keep you going.

Even thou the NPC's info is well presented and some parts are highlighted, they are just a basic pointer, you will still walk around not knowing where to go many times, specially because the mod wont tell you, when you have done a task, is a total guessing game, I'm all for no stupid handholding features but this is just bad design.
Because the game never hinted that I needed to go talk again, to the first stalker you find, instead I went to the "farm", I saw in the distance, thinking "perhaps the game is pointing me on that direction?", but no, instead I got there only to find a totally boring and empty place, no hints nothing and after minutes of walking around aimlessly, got killed by a pack of "wolf's" roaming around, this because I add no gun, you start with no gun, just a knife...
To get the gun, you need to talk to a particular NPC and get him a very hard to find axe, again because of bad design, the "axe" looked to me like a normal peace of wood not a axe! I think because the tall grass was hiding half of it!
Then after you give the axe to the NPC, will you get a weapon or at lest be told where to pick it up.

And this is the problem with this mod, is mostly fetch missions with way to much, boring walking in between, because most places are just empty of NPC's and the houses have almost zero stuff for you to pick up, after some time you just stop caring to explore, because "I'm sure it will be just another empty house.".

Some problems and stuff I found during my play, first got stuck on some stairs, those going down into a hole in the cordon houses, where the pack of dogs live, add to restart from a save.
Two saw the "elk" spawn in the distance from the air and fall down, when traveling from the first area to the second, when the old man told me to find the stalker.
Third is very obvious the wolf and elk are just reskinned stalker monsters. The elk for example behaves very unlike a elk, it should mostly run from you, not attack you on sight.

Sad that the mod ended no being my cup of tea because the images do look very good, but like everything on life, looks are deceiving.

Btw English is not my main language so sorry for the grammar mistakes.

Neural Origins

Mod review

Some textures look really impressive, the amount of quality they gained is awesome but others, not so much and imo looked better originally, even tho more low rez, for example the character cell phone numbers are now totally distorted and ugly, some of the textures features, like cuts/scratches and holes, specially those made by the normal maps look more blurry, there's also a constant noise like look, is if a post-process noise filter is included.

When Day Breaks

Mod review

Who made this mod has potential one of the best soma mods that I played till now (there's not many unfortunately) one thing that I would love for the team to improve next time, is the clarity of the voice acting, for a non native English speaker like myself, there was instances where I couldn't understand what the voice actors were saying, mostly on the voice records. Taking that out is a very nice mod, if short. Btw Alien Isolation was a inspiration i'm sure... ;)

At the end of the Earth

Mod review

From what I played, this mod is someone making a bunch of experiments on Cryengine 2, don't expect a coherent story or any direction whatsoever, just a bunch of running around being lost gameplay, sometimes bumping into invisible walls, random text messages show on your screen, some try to be "conversations" over radio, others tell you some country got stroke with Nukes and the casualties.
You also roam around, seeing a bunch of random and sometimes out of place animals, like rabbits, cats, Mose, dinosaurs, birds, etc. You will also find plenty of buildings and structures that IMO have no coherence in why are they where they are.
You eventually fight hazmat guys from Crysis, I think passing as aliens, some with normal Crysis guns, others with badly textured green "alien" guns but all behave like the gauss gun from Crysis, all in all a very amateur mod but is free, so try it and make your own mind about it.
And even tho i give a low rating to it, I hope the person that did it continue doing more mods, because eventually something good will come up i'm sure.

Doom 3: Phobos

Mod review may contain spoilers

This mod is fantastic!!! Is AAA quality! It starts slow but the introduction to the story is very well done. This mod not only achieves the original game level of quality it also surpases it in many aspects. Is a more colorful world with professional level design just look at the pictures! The voice acting is top notch! I've paid for games with inferior voice acting and worse presentation.

Spoilers below!!!!!!

I totally recommend this game to Doom 3 fans but also to those that liked the latest Frictional Games, Soma. Even tho this is a shooter and you will kill demons by the dozens, the last ones will see some aspects of Soma in this game.
