Looks great!
The MP-28 skin in game looks pretty bland imho, and the texture itself doesn't look much like metal. If you need anyone in the texturing department I'm willing to help out. If you go to CDG.net and search for Woody some of my work is on there. Email is mikeadamwood@gmail.com
The tank is simply amazing though!
'Oooh, I can't wait to see some outdoor environments.' Look on the site or in their profile and there is pics of outdoor enviroments...Anyway this looks great!
Not only are you wasting polygons but by modeling the text on the slide its also creating inaccuracies. Very nice model though!
I may be wrong but hasn't it been more than 2days now?
for some reason it reminds me of a train station
SinKing this is the higher poly model which you use to generate a normal map from then apply to a much lower polygon model, either that or this is the low poly model with the normal map applied, can't really tell from these angles but i'd guess this is the highpoly version judging by the very smooth curves. Incredible work anyway!
I want different angles and more poses, urr, for artistic purposes..
Yeh I know im a modeler/skinner myself, so I know what a render is. Don't get me wrong the mod is looking great, but the weapons seem very low detailed and blocky for cod2 and also very inaccurate. The FG42 for example shape wise looks nothing like the refs ive looked at.
The models kind of let the project down atm...
Looks cool but the car looks like its made from paper..
Definitely stalker. Crysis looks good but it just looks like another game which is trying to impress with graphics and detail. Stalker has been in development for like 5 years so not only is the graphics going to be good, the game is gonna be perfect because they took so much time on it. And unreal tourmament is getting the votes due to its fanbase.I have nothing against the games I just think stalker deserves to be at the top, mainly for it's originality. If I was voting for the games modding capabilities I would probably choose differently, as I am unaware of what stalkers modding tools will be like, dam shame if they screw the modding side of things up.
Looking forward to it. Loved revolt for cod1 just died very quickly..
Isn't there enough about WW2 already...
player model looks great!
Barrel looks extremelly thin, bullets must be like pins or something.
It doesn't look detailed enough and the skin looks wierd. It looks kinda old school tbh and would probably look good in a quake 3 mod or something, but you can do much better for source.
"Looks very good! What makes it different from CSS?"
Nothing.
Where the skinned zombie is only just on the lines of acceptable, the alec model is very poor. It seems like every media update which you release I have noticed a considerable drop in quality when it comes to models. I understand my comments seem a little harsh for a group of amatuer developers who are working on a non-profit project, but when I see a mod which looks extremelly promising release renders like this I just have to let you know. I know this isn't a 100% realistic mod and your not going for photo realistic results, but the artist should have a basic understanding of anatomy even if he is modeling half mutilated zombies.
Only part letting it down is the magazine. Apart from that it looks decent but also take into consideration the sizes of the renders in future. I'm guessing if he has to keep visiting the hospital that he is undergoing treatment of some sort.
Ok why do people keep dragging up the situation of FA2 vs FA:S. It's not like either team is making profit. Both teams are creating nice looking work and both mods will be different and which one you choose to play is entirely up to you...At the end of the day it's a simple download, no money is involved and both teams are working their *** off to make an enjoyable game for the community to play. You will have two choices to choose from instead of being stuck with just one. For example if you play FA:S and you dislike the gameplay you can always give the FA2 mod a try and see which one suits your taste. All the problems which occured are in the past now, and all your doing by dragging up the past is destroying what could be the sequal to the Firearms mod.
Congratulations! You just won the 'Make a modern engine look like crap' award.
Add some DIRT to those map textures! :p looks great though but I reckon it could do with a little more dirt cause right now it looks too clean. The level design is some of the best and the models are brilliant. Probably the only single player mod i've ever looked forward to. :D
They add more detail. HL1 had very basic and unrealistic map detail. Black mesa is a remake of the game but updating it by adding more detail and realistic textures. It's a fantastic conversion in my opinion. :D
Yes so what your saying is all mods with fail without concepts. I know this isn't true because theres probably more successful mods without concept artists than there is with them. I model without concepts and I do just fine, I admit it would be easier to do with concepts but Im not the best at drawing...So unless I use somebody elses concepts I don't use them at all, but then if I did use somebody elses drawings it takes away the whole reason I enjoy modeling, using my own ideas and imagination. Like I said concept art is very helpfull but it's not the most important thing in a mod. For commercial games it's VERY important because they are creating a game that people are going to pay to play, where as a modification is built by people who enjoy editing games such as me. In my opinion a concept artist is a bonus if you have one, but alot of mods live without them.
Yeah but its hard to find good concept artists and it's probably the least important thing in a mod, it helps but it's not necessary. Anyway nice concepts and the weapon looks brilliant.
Don't mean to offend any other mods and I really dislike BF2...But I think this team produce the best artwork in the whole modding community. It wouldn't suprise me if this team turned into a professional game developer/studio.
Yeah apart from the really obvious texture seam on the back of the head it's good ;)
