lucky for your team SRI, i got a request to download this mod and play it however i think it is a waste of time.

did you try enabling v-sync? because this game has a bug which has a connection between the graphics and the mouse for some reason. especially with newer cards that are out on the market.

5. adjust the accuracy specifically to ships like the mothership firing small rounds to make them dead on accurate, as they are usless against anything bigger then a fighter anyhow.

6. prog. dreadnaught firepower is supposedly greater then a battlecruiser and yet the battlecruiser always wins the round, the prog dreadnaught's ion cannons firepower needs adjusting along with it's speed and drivability and recharge rate to match the hiigaran cruiser and vaygr cruiser.

7. a reblance in the trinity cannon vs the ion cannon needs doing.

8. hiigaran ion frigates need more firepower because the same load of missle frigates from the vaygr could wipe the whole load out before the ions would wipe them out, besides this however. the ion cannon attack is very weak compared to torpedo frigates or bomber attacks, especially against destroyers or bc's for example and their health leaves a lot to be desired.

9. because the vaygr are fast and cheap builders of their ships that means their armour on all ships should be more decreased against the hiigaran ships, while the hiigaran ships are more slower and tougher armor. currently i do not see any major difference between the two sides because of the mismatched firepower.

10. the platforms should be more of a threat if they are to be prioritiesed, meaning more firepower and far more accuracy.

these are just a few to mention for a new patch if you are to make one. adding pretty little features to enhance the graphics wont help if the game is full of bugs still.

there is a reason why it is called a "patch" in the first place. because it patches up a broken area, effectivly ending any weakening and exploitation.

you are right sky_walker in that its just another mod, it's not official or un-official as a patch hence makes the "patch" part invalid.

if you really want to make a patch;

1. tell it to level out a bit on single player on the AI calculations when you have the biggest fleet you can when you arrive at thaddis sabbah and Balcora gate. what i mean is, when you have the max on everything you possibly can, the ai makes sure the enemy fleet is double your strength and possibly triple. that needs some real tweaking.

2. more mouse control support for graphics cards that do not use v-sync.

3. make the marine frigates and infiltrator frigates less likely to draw more attention.

4. fix the priority controls on evasive and agressive stance;
a)every time i wanted to capture any ship the ship that was attacking refused to acknowledge orders specifically after i asked it to leave the area on evasive stance. the end result was a lot of time and effort always wasted.
b)another instance of this is the insisent attack of frigates before destroyers then battleships.
c)is also includes platforms before anything else.

i have noted an odd bug in this game, i tried the hiigarans and for some reason after trying to advance the health of all ships my ms looses all its health without reason.
if i was under cloak attack even the attackers would need to decloak to fire besides this, the amount of health that was taken out could only come from a dreadnaught attack but thats the problem all the other players were lt's and ens.

this mod is good, however serveral things scremed out unbalanced and not making sense. using mod: 7.2.

1. the hiigarans are taxed too much for all the complicated crew shuttles, research stations while the vaygr are not, and if that was not enough hiigarans have additional costs for building something the vaygr don't.

2. the vaygr are too overpowered vs the hiigarans. ive seen a dreadnaught take an entire hiigaran fleet apart within seconds.

3. the fighters are usless against anything, they need some use or throw them out of service altogether.

4. hiigaran light carrier has no clear purpose, it can not be a ru drop off, it only builds fighters which are rubbish in this mod, no modules can be built and even if they were nothing good would come off this carrier anyhow.

5. random races are always set 2 of one race and 4 of the other in 6 player match 1 human vs 5 cpu.

i dont even need to play the game to see that there are a few flaws within that video release.

1. the nukes from both sides are slow and pack a wallop as well as a big explosion once hit is made, that is not so on this mod.
2. fighters should priorities on the nukes.
3. there should of been over 200+ raiders and some heavy raiders within the fight or any fight.
4. the flak looks strange once fired at a fighter from galactica or pegasus.
5. i can not recognise anything that resembles a fighter in most of the action.
6. the ressurection hub like every other ship within canon BSG are weak and suseptable to nukes once hit, which explains point 2.
7. the tranparent icons overlaps on a viewable ship is shown directly from a view which clearly takes from what might be a great game to play.
8. the blackbird is a stealth fighter and prototype and as such can not be rebuilt.
9. Helena Cain was in command at the time of the Ressurection Hub mission, you need Michelle Forbes' voice over for Pegasus.
10. like wise Adama for Galactica and Roslin for Colonial 1.
11. the acceleration and deceleration are way off likewise the turn rates for each ship.
12. the fire rate for each ship make the mod look unrealistic.
13. most of galactica's time in space and combat is in empty dark space, meaning no background except for a few background stars and maybe a star nearby for lighting.

there maybe more that could be further hidden however. at least think it over.

is the v2.1 video representitive of the mod? if not it would be a great idea to update it, i would like to know what i am downloading in a nutshell; not just hw2 with a few extra weapons ports, different colored energy round and different lick of paint on the hull.

if indeed this game is unstable then can you convince me that this mod is really worth downloading and calling the best? if you can not fix some of the most fundimental codes that made the game what it is, then it's no wonder it does not enter as one of the best mods on hw2.

little things like this make or break a game and i have seen way too many games fail at the first hurdle, because the devs didn't listen or bother looking at what they left behind them and cleaning up after themselves, leaving a lot of unhappy people wondering if it was worth the effort to begin with.
