you can just click on properties on the game on steam. Then click on betas and there you can switch between three diffreant versions. choose 2.1.6 and you will be able to the mod until the next patch gets released.

just because he hasn't updated for 3-4 weeks dosen't mean he has stopped working,

who knows, maybe he has personal issues or (don't let this happen) he's computer isn't working (he would maybe have a laptop to report it) or he's in full Work with the mod, and sure he could have stopped but i doubt it since he has put so much time into this mod and he's done (if not very close) with the with the hard part,

he could be also testing it and putting in missing Things, fixing bugs and adding in more things
