Small update: My hard drive began to fail this past week. Thankfully I managed to clone it onto a replacement drive so no harm has been done. Just a minor setback.
I'll get round to posting that FAQ when I'm back on track.

Ok I am resuming mapping from next week and after speaking to my fellow teammates hopefully they will be back on board to see this through.
In the meantime if anyone has good knowledge of HL1 mapping and would be willing to help with a couple questions I have then please let me know. It mainly relates to entity events and will greatly help me finish this quicker with a little advice.
That being said, there is so much of the first map that is already complete. I still intend to release this in parts so if all being well you may well be walking the halls of the infamous Spencer Mansion before too long...
Hey Madcap
I'm restarting work on the mapping from next week. I should be on steam in the evenings (GMT) so hopefully see you on there so we can catch up.
Krook.
Right, apologies for the non-activity.
I will give an update in the coming weeks as to the status of the project. Suffice to say, this is still something I really want to finish desperately but a few things need addressing first.
More soon (I promise)...
@ sutsko
This has always been something I wanted to do for myself, it's only when others have seen my work has it become the project it has now.
It could be done using fixed camera perspectives but then that would be completely copying the original and people would say "What's the point? I can just play the original game."
Atleast with using a first person perspective it gives a fresh feel to familar surroundings.
In recb there is a third person view which emulates Re4's aiming system
For the record, the attic shown here was WIP. I've improved the texturing and lighting to make it more atmospheric
Yeah we don't want to use such cheap tactics, however entity limits can be a problem without some monstermakers (respawning monsters). Even if we find we have to use some I will make sure they aren't the unrelenting, "kill the gameplay" type.
It is going to be strongly recommended that this is best played with a team of 2-4 players only. Any more than that and it will really ruin the teamwork and challenge. We also want to make this "single player friendly" so you don't have to rely on knowing any fellow recb players (they are a rare breed) to make a game of it
It is estimated there will be 4 maps covering all areas from the game. This is the way it will be structured:
1. Spencer Mansion
2. Courtyard & Guardhouse
3. Return to Spencer Mansion
4. Courtyard, Tunnel System & Lab
Hopefully I will be able to fit all the contents in of the last map. If I can't then the lab will surely be a seperate map.
Keep working at it Shoot_me. I too am working on something good for b2 so it's good to see someone else besides me.
Anyone know when the site will be back up?
The pics look great, I would just continue doing what you are. Recb needs more maps to play to keep the interest.
Agree totally. Sure I'm a little disappointed as I won't be able to play it until tomorrow now but hey it's no reason to pull hissy fits and talk ****.
I'm just glad that people have taken time and effort to bring this to us and if I have to wait then so be it!
