Yeah, and I blacklist all modders who block or sell their mods like they are the creators of the game, worse if you are sufficient ego centered to think you are big devlopper...You are modders not game makers.

And stop justifying your unwillingness to share on the back of some terrible sins from someone who is willing to work to make the game better. Are you saints? You are not saints, you can't pardon? Then you are not worth pardon.

The attitude of many modders infuriates me a lot lately, to the point that i don't play the games they are involved in, I was happy to return to this game, but you modders scrapped it all

I remember reading that all the waiting was to make a clean bug free release, but this look more bug ridden than clean. So, what was all the waiting for? I truth? I don't know, but seeing all these bugs just exacerbate my disappointment over the fact that I would need to buy the game a second time to play a mod. I will never buy a game twice unless I scrap it myself, I call that stealing from people. And yes I know I can "crack" it but it is a question of principles, and yes I do understand that anybody can make any mod under any condition and it is my problem to accept his terms of use or not, but it is the lying and the hypocrisy that just frustrate me so much, this is full of bugs and if the author had said along development that he was working to make it steam only, then I would've just skipped it, but he created as much anticipation as he could and at the end said "surprise! you'll have to buy the game anew to play it! Ah, ah,ah, got you!"

Is there any mod that make battles last longer? If not, i would want to make a mod that make mechs 4 times longer to kill (all mechs, including in missions), is there a program that would permit me to experiment with this? Just changing tonnage to add tons of armor would make the game far more interesting to me.

Well, I use chrome + adblock, but I have firefox too, so i'll try again with it. I downloaded the .zip you suggested, in it there was a freelancer.exe, and a launcherupdater.exe. I put both files in the EXE directory of crossfire 2.0 but I get the same message "qtcore.dll missing" if I start either freelancer or launcherupdate...

Thanks a lot for the help, I did try to sign up on swat portal, but I was "rejected" twice. I have all those c++, and my .net is 4.5.2, so I guess i'll try the new launcher.

Or maybe I should ask if everybody got the file qtcore4.dll except me, and if so where does it come from.

After a lot of fooling around, I managed to find a Qtcore.dll that worked (I had to download 9), then I got a new message saying mingwm.dll is missing. I installed the file, then it said libcc_s_dw2-1.dll is missing. I installed the file, and now i get a message saying that it cannot open a library in qtcore4.dll. I feel I'm installing c++ one file at a time and now they're conflicting. Should I uninnstall all the bunch (8) of c++ I have and reinstall them all? Or is there something I don't understand? I guess the mod doesn't work on my computer (the game do).

I can't get 2.0 to work, once the install is done, i need to manually link the shortcut on the desktop, then I get a message saying "The program can't start because Qtcore4.dll is missing".

I reinstalled with the C++ 2008 coming with crossfire 2.0, for the same result. I then downloaded 3 different versions of Qtcore4.dll, but the game give me a different error message for each one. But it's probably not a problem with the mod, so i'll try a few other things, I post thin in case someone else had the same problem.
