Respectfully disagree. That 'effect' drove me nuts, it was only an artifact due to the fact SoC didn't support stereo sound...
Disable Prefetch disables loading of extraneous textures/meshes during loading. It can either increase of reduce stuttering in SoC's engine.
Disassemble shaders I assume tells the game to ignore the shader_cache used in OGSE's engine branch.
DirectSound is deprecated in Vista & later and should only be used if you have issues with OpenAL, for example if surround audio is broken and you have ALchemy or other such things to 'fix' it in DirectSound games.
I will never get tired of X-Ray's lighting engine. Absolutely beautiful.

I found the release candidate on ap-pro..It's worth noting that it seems the gamedata.dbc you added is in the Russian db format, which will not work in any English copy of the game. Though it only includes the EFIGS files so I'm not sure its required.
The translation itself is broken. Even after setting localization.ltx to read from the eng text folder, the game will not start due to string errors in the files. I tried to fix them myself but got stuck.

Heh, always wanted to see this feature in final SoC. I always liked it in the old builds.
They seem to contain some extra shader files. However, I don't think the game will load them unless they're placed somewhere else. Perhaps an oversight while packing the mod files?

VincentVega, you should re-upload this with the textures and sounds in an XDB file. This seems to have fixed the crashing issue for me and a couple other people I told about the solution. Its something related to X-Ray's resource usage, I suppose.
I managed to fix this by packing the mod into an XDB file using bardak's converter and installing it in the SoC mod folder. Well, if it works it works!
Hm. I seem to be having issues getting it to run. I've tried under 1.0005 and 1.0006 and I get

Every time, it seems. Yeah, I've patched with the 4GB patcher. And I've tried the hacked bin files for 1.0006. Doesn't make a difference.
Downloading it from the link on gameru.net right now, I can't wait to check it out in-game.
