MWLL, simply put, is an astoundingly high quality mod. While it may be limited compared to earlier Mechwarrior games, it is still in beta with new features and content coming. The quality of the visuals, effects, and sounds is on par with many professionally developed games from the two years, and the in-game balance and variety is excellent. I've never been a fan of ''Mech sims, and I'm still not. MWLL is the exception to that because while it IS Mechwarrior, it uses other types of combat units from the BattleTech universe. For a 'Mech disliker like myself, there's tanks (both nimble and weak hover tanks, and slow 'n heavy tracked tanks), aerospace fighters, VTOL's, and BattleArmour (my personal favourite). The variety doesn't take away from the game for a moment, or feel cliched. In-fact, the balance of the game means that those outside of a 'Mech can be a contributor to the teams success. Excellent mod.
