I have still had freezing late game with the patch but I found another solution here "http://www.jaloonz.com/2008/04/enabling-large-address-aware-for-games.html" it fixes a problem that sins engine has with only using 2 gigs of ram, it ups it to 4 gigs.

i found a fix to it had to redownload some of it was corupted.
