The only cache locations that seem to show up on any map are from dead bodies. At the end of most missions I get cache locations but they don't show up. Probably a glitch.
Another bug for you all
This isn't a CTD, so it's a little harder to notice but:
After a certain amount of game time your FPS slowly drops, unnoticeable at first, but steadily declining until you're running around at about 10-15 frames per second going, "huh?"
But, after restarting the game (with the exact same settings) you're frame rate skyrockets. I've made it a point to set an alarm and restart after an hour, my fps jumps from 25-30 to 60~ and hangs there for about 25-30~ minutes before slowly declining.
Hahaha, your 'slender hd' comment made me chuckle. Thanks for the words, man. While 'pretty-to-look-at' can make fun games incredible, 'pretty-to-look-at but as-fun-to-play-as-contracting-syphilis' is what makes some gorgeous games flunk.
I'll be trying to work on the vanilla lighting system to make it a little more attractive and when that happens I'll post some teaser bull, but until that point I'll be showing off my (in)ability to put custom textures on blocks inside of game engines.
Thanks again for the interest and take care!
Thewallshaveteeth.net is another great community of urban explorers with some incredible pictures.
Thank you very much! I love the hands on stuff! And yes I do, I use crazy bump to make the specular maps and the normals, and sometimes photoshop afterwards to clean up the normals.
thanks a lot! remember, everything you're seeing right now is pre-alpha. I plan on starting with even a fresh new heightmap, new ground textures, etc!
gorgeous tiling! I, too, have notice how much better subtlety reacts to the eye. What program/plugin do you use to create and edit your normal maps?
Thank you very much for the constructive criticism! I'm going back through a lot of them using crazybump and turning the intensity wayyy down on the normal's
awesome work, can't wait to play this!
absolutely phenomenal work. Good job guys
