Having worked as a farmer and woodcutter for most of my life i became determined to do something that would leave my mark after i was gone. Since then i got back to studies, and i have now a master degree in Electrotecnical Engineering as well as a degree on Electromechanical Engineering. On my free time i like playing and so i became interested in creating my own games or, in the shorter term, modding games to get something closer to what i would like games to be.

What's even more interesting about this is: The Necron Lord could do the same thing, but you can then spawn infinite Necron Lords. :O

With the necron veteran i could get multiple necron lords also because they were able to be possessed by the nightbringer and when they returned...well they were full necron lords.

In this case because of the 2 vehicle cap used it isn't likely a person could get much more 10-12 tomb spyders which is probably too much anyway and thus why i decided to left this feature out (that and the fact infantry and destroyers are getting some new goodies :P ).

On a side note, the time a person would need to spend (and the planning required) to get for example 10 necron lords that way would certainly be higher than the reward you get by having them. Pretty much you would have to allow them to be killed almost simultaneously to allow you to recruit a new one and this would only work with 100% chance of ressurecting, with lower chances, it would be extremely unlikely to have more than 3 necron lords.

We all know tomb spyders have nice animations when they are recruited to be activated (even at a huge distance from the hq) but i personnaly didn't knew if the animations would be prepared for the ressurection with no issues (i knew it could be coded to work as desired but didn't knew if that coding could be avoided).
This was tested with a 100% probability of ressurecting which of course in terms of gameplay would not be desirable but for testing purposes is ideal.

As a side note, tomb spyders even with immortality (they always ressurect) are not that powerful. A spam of swarm like units or the use of good anti vehicle weapons would be enough to keep those 3 spyders busy while a more powerful force went to take out the major necron base. A bunch of orks kept the 3 spyders busy for over 10 minutes with the spyders having done little more than destroying a building and killing a few dozens of orks and a few vehicles which is seriously not that impressive.
