Having worked as a farmer and woodcutter for most of my life i became determined to do something that would leave my mark after i was gone. Since then i got back to studies, and i have now a master degree in Electrotecnical Engineering as well as a degree on Electromechanical Engineering. On my free time i like playing and so i became interested in creating my own games or, in the shorter term, modding games to get something closer to what i would like games to be.
So i never understood why space marines for no reason stop using sniper rifles when they get out of the scout's training. With this in mind i decided to try and create a variant of the space marine that uses the scout's weapons. Some adaptations were required and there are some minor issues but it should be fully functional (requires battlefield testing but that takes time).
Actually looks pretty cool.
The scouts and the marines swap splendidly.
and I am thinking that is the "codex" set?
I used the scout from UA which is slightly different from the pok one i used on other work. It is not a perfect swap and it did crack me up a bit initially (my initial idea was to create this but still my path led to the 2 model results a few images to the right before i could find a solution). Most models would need a hand retexture since the matching hand didn't had good results in terms of bones.
Corvus with a sniper rifle, i just had a similar idea for my miniature, but the need of the butt is in question taking in account a complete sm armors stabilisation abilities abscent in scout armor, as there is a phobos bolter as well and it doesn't require a butt.
