Its because I was running the game in DirectX 8 basic to be able to traverse into the car graveyard without the game crashing. I found a fix for that. If you go into properties on your shortcut for COC, and add

-noprefetch -nointro

to the end of the test line. It alows you to bypass the low memory error in the car graveyard and run the game in higher settings. I run it in DirectX 10 and it looks and works great. Also no neon moss, Just straight up smoothness.

Mine looks like this.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\S.T.A.L.K.E.R - CoC files\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Chernobyl\Stalker-CoC.exe" -noprefetch -nointro

hope this helps some of you.

Q: The game keeps crashing on level load for some levels with an Out Of Memory error, specifically Trucks Cemetery. How can I fix this?

A: If you use a lot of addons that add hi-res texturers and meshes, then chances are you are running out of GPU RAM on prefetch. Pass -noprefetch through your shortcut to disable prefetching; this is a workaround.

Can someone explain to me how to do this? I've been trying to figure this out for three days.

Is there a way to remove elements from the game? All the moss in the game is reacting to flashlights, lightning and mussel flashes, by glowing neon blue and pink. Sometimes just being near it makes the color bright blue and its everywhere. If I could just take out the moss it would look perfect.

I keep running into one of two problems with this mod that are killing it for me. If I run it in DirectX 8 I can go to the truck graveyard but all the moss hanging around the game world reacts to lightning, flashlights and mussel flashes by turning a bright blue or pink. I cant turn my flashlight on anywhere without the moss going into rave mode. But if I turn It to DirectX 9 or above this problem goes away. But when I try to enter the Car grave yard or some other areas I get an error message kind of like.

I'm not great with computers, does this make any sense?

Are there any mods that make the player character move a little more realistic? What I mean is, When in towns I like to walk around with my gun away and in 3rd person. I don't mind how stiff the animations are but I would like something that makes it so my character doesn't throw his hands down to his sides when he moves. When he has the bolt out he jogs like a semi normal person. Something like that but without the bolt in his hand. I know it might sound small and stupid, but it would help me immerse myself a lot more. Maybe a key bind that lets you sit at fires with other stalkers or just stand looking normal. Instead of battle ready at all times.
