How Do I recruit The "Necromancer" (Sauron) with Dol Guldor Faction in War of the Ring mode? played a few rounds saved up enough for my fourth army leader hero, Being the necromancer for the 2500. but it won't let me click it to start his "Training". Is there a prerequisite to Buying him other then resources that I just don't know about yet, or is this a bug due to him being a semi-Ring hero as well? because I can't train him in real-time battles either which I figure is the way it's meant to be. Seeing how it's that way for all factions. Any Help would be awesome. wanna feel that Necromancer power. and he'll be very useful for moving his armies across the field without having to highly invest in structures or higher tier units that don't take curruption dmg.
Gotta say though.
I'm a turtle player so I'm loving being able to build up this nigh impenetrable fortress of towers and Buriel Mounds and slowly but surely build towards their base while simultaneously amassing a large defensive force preparing for the moment to strike
Everything works for me until I get try to Start a war of the Ring mode game. it Crashes once I select play. What should I do to remedy this? I feel like I might have one thing off, but I'm not sure what it might be. or does War of the ring not work with Dol Guldor yet? Do I need to Uninstall old versions of Age of the Ring first. as in 4.0 and the like??? When I've updated to new versions in the past I only ever downloaded the new version and it would patch over the old with it's new data or add. not exactly sure how it works, I install this one, the new patch. use the switcher to get it v8.0.1 Like you say to do. game loads up fine with new Title screen but then the moment I try to start ay match it crashes. Am I going to have to completely delete everything start reinstall everything and all the patches then only download 5.0? Cause now I'm almost scared to mess with anything.
Oh whoa, That sounds Really Dang Cool. would be very late game but holy HeyZues Having them and Sauron descending upon your foes would be quite scary for an opponent.
My apologies. It wasn't my intention to come across That way, and I was just trying to be constructive. but you're right I shouldn't have said Kinda stupid, I see now. I love this community and everything they do and I don't want to come across that way at all. These guys are awesome. I do understand the reasons behind their choices as I do read every article they put out.
originally with RotWK expansion you had 2 fel beasts, The With Witch King and could recruit the remaining 6 nazgul riders. so 9. not technically heroes. but the 6 counted as the factions hero unit/special troops. AotR replaced these but their morgul troops we're basically the same. it was pretty cool in my opinion is all. iunno. Still think what you guys are doing is awesome, I Just like having em all together. Having a Strong Lieutenant for Dol Guldor is important though and I understand the Choice. And Lore speaking he would be the Optimal one to go.
I really don't like the idea of Mordor's Faction no longer having the Nine. Kinda stupid actually. It would be better to leave Khamul with Mordor and Give Dol Guldor some new custom heroes. I know Shagrat and Gorbag are legit characters of Mordor's faction But taking away the ability to actually have all Nine together is pretty Lame and really takes away from the whole Fantasy aspect. Even not having the Fel Beasts, which I understand is for balance and making them a power like the eagles for elves, none the less takes away from the fantasy of getting em all together. Goblins had Drogoth which was later replaced by Smaug. then added to the New Misty Mountains Faction and that was awesome. But now he's a ring hero. once again taking away from some of the fantasy and fun. By the time anyone can buy a Ring Hero "10,000" the game is already over because they're already dominating at that point. because if you don't have full map control you should never have unspent resources amounting to anywhere even near 10,000.
Has anyone else has crashing issues when trying to play War of the ring war of gondor or batlle for rohan? once the 1st level(real-time battle I should say) is done it crashes. never have any issues with the normal war of the ring mode.
So Looking forward to the next installment everything is looking beautiful.
I've noticed this is the same with misty mountains as well. if a hero dies sometimes it will give you the option to "train" other heroes as well as revive your fallen one. but until then yeah, empty.....
hey so it seems that all of the other modes inside war of the ring mode aside from it's standard cause the game to crash now, not sure why.

Getting crashes now all of a sudden by entering war of the ring mode as Rohan. iunno if its just that or something else. but now i also can't play BFME2 regular with 1.09 either. weird. someone help plz.
have all the patch switchers and everything updated for age of the ring as well. switched to patch 2.02 v8 and 1.09 click on BFME2 and won't play, not Age of the ring, just BFME2
Try V7 and that won't work either. seemed to work fine last week. what's going on. i even made a note pad save of all the different setting required for each mode of play. Nothing that should work is.and I can't seem to enjoy the new and beautiful Rohan team either.

love those games, they are hell of a lot of fun, but completely true. its basically the same as force unleashed for Star wars. fun game, with a cool character, but has no place in the real story, non-canon.
Amazing update. such beautiful work. just playing through the first three levels of the campaign has blown me away and tickled all of my nostalgia spots just right. like the part when Frodo and Sam meet with Merry and Pippin. the run from farmer maggot and fall to find mushrooms before the Nazgul come and they race for the Buckle-bury ferry. identical to the movie, amazing work. just Absolutely Amazing!
Hey Guys sorry to Bother you, But I've been trying to run this Map for a bit and for some reason or another it keeps on crashing. I even uninstalled the Age of the Ring mod and Reinstalled but after so long into a match it suddenly crashes claiming a bunch of errors one of them being memory. not sure what the problem is as I havent had any issue until this map. though i recently tried installing Edain to try out as well with no success prior to my issue, do to mounting issues which i;m sure i could fix but seemed like a big hassle. I fully uninstalled the Edain mod and disabled it before hand. So I don't think that's the issue. double checked everthing as far as patches making sure the right ones were selected, and like I said the rest of the game seems to work fine. just not this Awesome map. i really want to play it as it is beautiful and I know it takes a lot of work to make something so. please help me solve my crashing issue, if you know what might be causing it or have had any similar problems yourself. Thank you in advance.
