I'm pretty optimistic for the most part. Tau already get loads of goodies t2 and up. Interested to see where it goes.

Good Morning Dev Team. With the upcoming release to 7.0 there have been quite a few changes that I've found after coming back from my yearly flush of the internet and to the say the least my feelings are mixed.

First and foremost, I am absolutely loving the designs of the factions that have been teased as of now. They all seem to be really unique, and have enough content in them to not be copy n paste of previous factions. I'm ecstatic to see more units for the current factions as well. Glad to see so many new ideas, and concepts coming to Uni 7.0
BUT.
As I've been watching videos for the upcoming release I stumbled across TheLaughingMax's Tau vs FSE video. And to my surprise the Auxillary building could be built in t1. As he explained roughly paraphrasing "Standard openers are still viable" This frankly isn't true. TI mean it makes sense to have auxillary's with axillaries and tau with tau Lore wise I get it. It makes sense. But logically this change is only going to get people upset. Let me get into why this change is not for the best.

There have been many changes in the mod one faction especially is Chaos. Chaos I think we've gotten to a point where the t3 upgrade is a bit redundant you already get furious charge (which increase the movement speed anyway) now to add more is a bit un neeeded. Anoyher faction is IG. no one really uses the marauder bomber anyway so adding it to a separate building cleared way for new units in the machine building + adding new flyers was unique. In addition to factions like Eldar, Sisters and IG The addition of neophytes has not changed the matchups for the vanilla factions they're just a neat unit that has been added. Adding Conscripts to Guard does not change the matchups for the other vanilla factions. The change with the banshees well it's really strong atm hopefully that gets adjusted for 7.0 But for the explanation for conscripts and neophytes they *can* be used to create new build orders for different match ups.
As for this change it will directly influence and flatout change matchups. This. This is a complete overhaul for a really already weak faction t1. I'm sure there has already been some backlash for the announcement of this change. And the matchups that were already unfavored for tau t1 are tbh going to be more difficult if this change get's implemented.

I love the tau. I love using Vespid and Kroot t1 already, but the issue now is if I want to transition into fw's it's just an uneccessary cost. And to think that If you go for barracks first to what only get fw's and have no detection ( I can assume you're going to put pathfinders) but for what? Cool and Unique ways for tau to counter the vanilla facitons have already been established. Learning and experimenting has already been done, but now if this change goes through you'll be tearing down the factions as a whole. If this decision was for lore accuracy I'm sorry but that is completely ignorant and quite frankly you guy's did not consider the player base of both sides.

After all you guys have said any additions to the Vanilla Factions will not directly impact their primary playstyle. This change most definitely does. Years of theorizing builds against the already broken factions in soul storm are now crumbled. And yes there are mods out there that have something similar EX REDUX, and TW's they have Pathfinders t1 as detectors and a starting capping unit. But every faction in Redux and Tw's is changed and balanced in a way around each other. There are new builds to be made because they are so drastically different from Vanilla Soul storm. But the 9 factions in Uni (excluding crons over charge still needs to be removed imo) they're still roughly 95% the same in t1.

You guy's do this for fun, and at your own expense. I understand that. You guy's put 100's if not 1000's of hours into this mod at your own leisure. And sure there are balance hiccups here and there but they get fixed, life goes on. But to attract new players and to keep the existing ones changing how a faction plays in the most critical part of the game especially in high level play is not right. Sure you guy's might compensate for the t1 but Tau is tau they have versatility in the t1 and if you some how make it alive in a lot of these matchups you deserve it. Think it over. I'm sure you've already gotten plenty of feedback whether it was positive or negative about this change. That is all I have to say Have a good morning and continue making the dow modding community proud.

Yes all mods are compatible with mp. ANd yes they need the mod to play with the mod. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

What do you mean? DG is pretty fleshed out man. Maybe excluding vehicles. but other than that they have a solid roster.

DG I'd say right now are up there in t2. Those blight nades are a handful to deal with. Same with the malignant plague caster. Pair them up with some havocs. Light Infantry/ Infantry *gone*

I appreciate the "hype" the guy's are putting up in the discord, but having "soon TM" is a bit of a blueball. that could literally mean anything. Best to have kept it blank. In my opinion.

Due to an unexpected personal issue. The next version won't be released this weekend. It will most likely be released midweek or Friday next week. "Summed up announcement by kekoulis". Mid week sounds most reasonable. A bit unnecessary to push it back further if you have the version done. But in any case, Kekoulis I do hope all is well and I'm looking forward to 6.9

Like I said your guy's mod, and it's the only real "professionally" made mod out there for soulstorm. All the others are pretty lazy. So as for the Alpha Legion thing why are people so caught up on that? I mean considering the 40k community as a whole has some interesting "characters". Tried playing table top, and table top simulator. Never doing that again... (People RP way too much)

I don't watch anime all the often, but is that yor from Spyxfamily as a reskinned head of the calidus? Why? I know it's your guy's mod and all and there are some "quirky" torniquets here and there, but c'mon. (If anything, reskinning the eversor would have made the most sense)

AS for UM I don't know probably the same person, but yes there was recently for 6.9. The dkok developer who no longer is working with the mod gave a beta to said person. That's why there's no public beta testing, and testing is used for trusted individuals who have helped the mod, and or have given feedback to the mod.

Now that I think about it, I can assume that the next version won't be coming any time soon. This isn't a disappointed rant, but it's a realistic one. I highly doubt like sua berry said in the uni discord earlier that the mod version will be released Late June Early July. It's much longer than we all anticipated. Am I wrong? There is steady progress sure, but how much are you guy's adding? Surely it won't take another year, I expect it to be within the fall or just before school starts like in August or something I'm guessing. Now that there are so many things going to in the next version shown in dev showcase, and obviously a butt load more, it only makes sense. Going through all the values in corsix, and whatever else you guy's use is tiresome. I'm sure everyone is on deck doing good work, and working their ***** off, but it is a bit blue ball if some of the admins say like in March that the version will come out in May, and now it's late June early July.

Any chance the next version will be released within the month? Respectfully I don't want to hear "when it's done". People I assume have been waiting patiently enough and were expecting a far earlier release months ago as per due the initial promise of it being released near the same time this version came out (in February/March). If you were to say this or next month definitely. Sure, I'd be fine. But to leave it ominously and leaving the community as to when the version comes out; it's off. In an all-outrageous situation of comparison which is totally not true, but it's almost like waiting for the almighty 1.9 that cylarne promised. IF we could just get a time stamp as to when there's a possible release within the next two months it'd be much appreciated. In other cases, I love the new units that have been displayed in the discord, and I'm very much prepared to see them!

You can always choose not to have the effects on. It's an optional download. I rarely if ever crash, and those crashes happen due to other people missing files.
