I'm in a constant cycle of stuck coming out of X10 back to Radar, constant CTD with:

Calibration (expert) tools are in one of the storage tanks behind the bandit base in an area marked "Filling Station" in the Dark Valley. You need to climb down into one of the tanks (never seen that mechanic in other mods).
Access to the Dark Valley won't open up until later it seems.

I've been through every truck in that camp several times, haven't found anything - can't find a truck near the station (just the ones in the building complex), can you tell us a bit more?

I found
dark_stalker_4everdark_stalker_4ever's post below with the fully extracted config and script files - Mediafire.com(True_Stalker,_v1.0).rar/file

1. extract the "gamedata" folder into your primary game folder so it sits alongside bin, content, userdata, etc.

2. go into gamedata/configs and edit "system.ltx" looking for the word "weight" - I add two zeroes to the end of each value

3. edit gamedata/config/creatures/actor.ltx - edit max_item_mass and max_walk_weight (I added zeroes to the end of each value).

I did some tests and it seems to have removed movement inhibitors accordingly. It's a personal preference but I much prefer the game without these limitations.

CARRYWEIGHT - Any mods available for that?

I'm trying to find a way to remove weight limits - I know it's against cannon but it's something I can't stand about the series, is there any recommended way to adjust that for this title? I've tried several older methods and nnone work so far.

I uninstalled and re-installed using a different primary path - so C:\games\True Stalker.
The save issue is due to later windows releases forbidding data file writes into Program Files.

Having problems with saves and loads - saved games never appear in the list, exited and went back in and they're not there. Used standard/stock installation, game seems to work well and even just starting you see a STACK of new stuff in there, even the Rookie Villages has all these new buildings and changes.

Sadly not sure where to go with the saves issue, I can't really play until that one can work - anyone got ideas?

Went through the entire process from scratch and same result, seems basic config is broken? I can't progress past that point.

I'm getting a *lot* of crash-to-desktop errors, I'm not entirely sure how/where to report them (I assumed the Bug-track system was configured to send to the original developers?).

My latest one is a crash-to-desktop (unhandled exception) that occurs when moving from Cordon to the Swamps. The transition always fails, I tried rolling back a few saved games and I still get a lot of crashing.

Could you advise:
- where best to post errors
- how you'd like them to be posted (e.g. full openxray log file?).

Ok I think I furnished a workaround - in line 974 of the file gamedata\scripts\g_script I rem'd out the line "log(string.format("%s",nil))" by prefixing it with "-- " which appears to be the required syntax to rem something. I don't know what the implications of this are but it got past this problem, it may be worth a bug report.

Help!

I'm getting another crash-to-desktop in a main questline element, I find information on a dead stalker Zohra (?) in a target called "Search the digger's body". I can search the body fine and it plays a recording of dialogue but within 1-2 seconds of this it constantly crashes to desktop with the following error:

I'm wondering if this is a scripting error but I can't troubleshoot it as I'm not sure what to look for, there are some matches online but they relate to other mods. I've tired extracting the gamedata files, tried running it and without those; no change unfortunately.

Is there a way that I can bypass this error with the game's console or has anyone recommendations for script file modification?

Can anyone suggest a way to mod the game to stop you from dropping your weapon all the time? I'm sick to death of this, the character drops his weapon even if the wind changes direction.
