Nothing here yet, give me a break!
While I appreciate the attempt at making something "Authentic" to what the Enclave had America being in a pre-war society gone apocalypse-now Raider-destroyed hellscape.
Except it doesn't click with the original lore of Fallout (and I'm not saying Fallout 4 did, either), and it's a clear effort into turning what's supposed to be a 50's themed idealist society corrupted by an internal power struggled and nuked by two superpowers.
While I appreciate the removal of /certain/ tropes, the changing of race, the references in comments and forums by the developer in terms of "White people have culture" (Yes, but /white/ is not a culture, there's actual scientific studies dedicated to that fact), and subtle, potentially racist hints elsewhere, makes this kind of bleh.
A majority of black and other ethnic groups live in the North-East of the United States, especially in areas around the commonwealth.
Now suddenly everyone is white.
Strong characters have been changed based solely on gender, with few exceptions to the ugly "STRONG GIRL" trope.
The dev has clearly made an effort to remove "Woke" things, and woke is a word only used by racists and the GOP, and clearly this Developer and his fans to remove ethnic diversity from a 1950's themed apocalyptic game that takes place in the 2100s and beyond.
Unlike the original Fallout 1 and 2, both of which included diverse ethnic casting including with the MANY tribes and more, he's clearly missed the point.
There's a lot to love here, but I'm slapping a gigantic "1" on this great concept for two reasons (the second being more important than the first).
First, absolutely no single-player content. This is great for people who love online-only stuff, but not so much for those looking to relax and play a fun game.
Second, and this is the kicker, the community is overwhelmingly toxic. It's worse than the PUBG community, it's THAT bad. While the DEVs are making lots of promises to fix that, you really **honestly** cannot fix the level of toxicity, racism, and outright rude behavior that's instilled in players in an online environment.
Hello!
While this mod is fantastic (and a worthy successor to Brutal Doom itself), you should know before you begin to support this rotten egg of the Earth, that Sergeant_Mark_IV is a bad person.
He's racist, he's an *******, he likes to claim he's worse than Hitler and he's also talked a user that was extremely depressed (and needed help) into killing themselves.
So honestly, don't support his work. Just walk away and do something else.
What can I say about Bear Force II that hasn't been said already? While not a completely awful mod (it's building upon the original ruins of Conquest and has a really dumb name) it's not very active (server wise, you can get MAYBE 20 people playing at once), lacks a singleplayer campaign and AI (which made the game great to begin with) and generally just isn't a whole lot of fun. Better luck next time.
From the mod being a collection of stolen assets that were simply "Reskinned" (they still have trademarks on them from other games and mods), to the Administrators/Creators being completely ********, this mod is a giant piece of ****.
Maybe if they carried themselves with a better attitude and weren't bigoted (don't even bother trying to talk to them if you're not French or speaking English, they get ridiculously upset over it), then this might have been worth it.
But it's not.
This simply doesn't work, and the lack of a description for anything in the first place is a joke. You really need to put more information on the modding page itself instead of just giving a bunch of third-party-download links because you may or may not have ripped off other mods.
Not a great mod. Kind of boring. No sophistication unless you want to be a Jedi/Sith which completely dominates all other classes.
Not much to say beyond it's a solid mod that inspires a cool, grim-dark/Lord of the Rings feel.
