I have been waiting for a linux game download manager for almost a decade. I'm so happy you guys have thrown down the gauntlet. I will definitely be buying lots of linux games when I can get this installed on my machine.

If only I could help you code this or support you some other way in this endeavour.

I don't think there are many bugs with blender 2.5.

Most of the problems I talked about are because I don't know how to use blender. However maybe you could consider that a UI bug since I wasn't able to just pick it up straight away.

I think that blender is getting better and better. This version is much easier to use then other versions I have tried and I've also been able to do more without headaches too.

Just start working on what you feel like doing. There is no need to check if anyone is already working on something, just go right ahead and post what you have.

Lots of things need doing, but if you feel like you can't directly contribute then just discussing the game in our forums is enough.

Our forums are here: Forum.hardwar.org

Well firstly there's a couple of reasons you don't have to worry about that.

1 - We don't know who owns the copyright so that'd be great if they sued us, then we'd know :)
2 - Ciaran the former CEO of Software Refinery and 1 of 2 people that actually has the code that I know of fully supports our efforts.
3 - We are trying not to use any art from the original game and the source code is completely my own work so even if someone did get the copyright there is nothing they can sue us over because it's not their work.

The only threat is over the fact that we're using "derivative work", in other words stuff like the fact we're doing a flying game on Titan and giving it the same name, however I think we have too much stuff that is different that it would be impossible to win against us if anyone did try to sue us for derivative work.

To sum up. There really isn't anything to worry about when it comes to that side of things. We can even get away with calling our remake "hardwar" because the trademark has expired.

Hardwar is an old game which came out in 1998. If you search wikipedia for "Hardwar" you can find an entry about the game there.

Problem is the game company that made it went bankrupt. I've been talking to the CEO and programmer of the old company to get the source code however because of legal problems it's impossible to release it. Instead we're remaking the game, which is what this project is all about.
