Embrace the sultry swagger and urban grime of the modern vampire. This is a fan group for those who wish to share their experiences in both video games and the pen and paper series.

The story begins 25 years earlier at the peak of the tabletop roleplaying games industry. Back in the 1990s, a company named White Wolf loomed over this arcane landscape with a hugely successful series of games about vampires, werewolves, and wizards lurking behind our mundane reality.

Years before Twilight and its sulky undead hordes, World of Darkness mixed punk-rock rebellion and gothic style into the vampire mythos, grabbing the 90s zeitgeist by the throat and selling millions of books in the process. There was even a short-lived Aaron Spelling television show.

Rising printing costs and the growth of video games brought trouble to White Wolf, before it was acquired by CCP Games who mishandeled not the crossover, but all of its managment since then.

Whats going on with The World of Darkness series in video games?

Paradox Interactive has announced their acquisition of White Wolf Publishing, the company behind the popular World of Darkness roleplaying franchise.

As a subsidiary of Paradox, White Wolf Publishing is set to operate as an independent entity with a dedicated team, led by former Paradox EVP of Business Development Tobias Sjögren, who will now serve as CEO of White Wolf. The company will (according to a press release announcing the sale), "pursue development opportunities across relevant categories of games" under the brand.

A statement on the White Wolf Publishing website states that the company aims to, "centralize all aspects of the universe to manage it with the love and care it deserves," and that they are, "re-evaluating our business relationships to make sure we're working with the best creators, developers and artists". A tweet from Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester has promised further details on these partnerships in the coming weeks.

I enjoy the Extreme Mode with one exception: I don't see how humans in riot gear become more resilient than most of the other enemies in the game, bosses included. Blood boil should NOT be able to be resisted by any non-boss human O.o

I want to thank you guys and gals for the hard work, blood, sweat and tears you all have put into making these amazing mods. Seriously, I have read some stuff on the forums and I did not realize the politics and ^drama & intrigue^ that some of you folks experience. It's a shame, but words I cannot express for my thanks for you modders. If there is any way I can help, I am no coder or pc techy, but perhaps a link for a paypal to buy ya a case of Heineken or carton of cigs, a throw in on new tech for modding. (Dedicated VTMB Modders only! :)

Perhaps a small request.... if anyone of you ambitious folks could create a serious music re-haul for Bloodlines to include more of the likes of Uncle Al screaming (tunes like Senor Peligro, NWO No w, etc) or some Nine Inch Nails or something along this genre of calming symphony of chaos.... I would be much MUCH obliged!

Again thanks for sucking it up all these years, I feel indebted in any way.
Blessings, God Bless, Zen on, Rock on in all you do. Cheers!

Just read about it. I'm actually quite interested in Werewolf, who knows it might even be good.

Thanks! Though the randomness of the invite sorta makes me feel watched. Maybe that's the vibe you're going for...
