In fact, most of the team spent countless hours with the entire series. Perfected Doom 3

Mods install to main game directory. Also note that all above mods were tested and should work on 1.3.1 patch only. You may need to patch your game before installing any of these mods, otherwise you'll likely to get a wrong game DLL API version error.
..now can we have more mods added for Jedi Knight series and Half-Life 2?
desura had Half life 1 and 2 mods from launch
Awesome!
thank you guys
Sorry for the delay, these mods were promised to be published at least a few days earlier.
Also The Dark Mod and Quake II: Lost Marine are currently unsupported due to mod related problems, though they can be up at a later date.
no problems. im glad you made the few doomer individuals wish come true.
-the marine mod is only compatible with the old version of doom3, so you have to get the dev to get it running on the newest patch
-the dark mod has an amateur built in update system, and the devs are fools if they wont support desura.
Amateur update system!? Tell me what does that system have of amateur? It works well, it does what is meant to do (update the mod) and does that in a very user friendly manner, so i don't see what it has of amateur, hell some triple A teams don't have a system so well designed.
The developers are not fools if they don't support desura, the mod will not be automatically bad because of that, i would like if they did supported desura but if they don't, maybe because desura is not compatible with their update system and they don't want to ditch it, they did worked very hard on it so is understandable, I and many others will still play it because "The Dark Mod" is a fantastic Doom 3 TC and i strongly recommend it to everyone that is a Thief or stealth gameplay fan.
sorry, i mean there are a lot of opportunitys in desura for a mod developer. didnt wanted to be rude, just sayin that desura has more ooportunitys for the mod devs. its not automaticly bad bacause of that, but its way more easy for a new mod player and you can reach a lot more players there.
Ok i understand, but IMO TDM is more a tool them a simple mod, the core mod is just a simple tutorial level and a levels making tool, you need to download separate fan missions to be able to enjoy it fully, so the Desura developers would have to do a special section or something just for this mod so users could download fan missions more easily. Perhaps when the idtech 4 engine source comes out they become stand alone and so this mod can be treated on Desura has a separate game with their on mod section (fan missions).
Thanks for your support Argoon!
I'm afraid that The Dark Mod and Desura are currently at some sort of philosophical impasse right now. The lead developer, Greebo, spent a great deal of time getting a "mission download" feature and "auto update" feature working well and meeting with the approval of all the nationalities who use the mod and their ISP rules. These features have really made the mod into a luxury experience for those that get past the initial install barrier.
Now Desura has requested that we remove our updaters from the mod because it may add additional confusion and conflicts with their methods. It does make sense. If joe end-user launches a Desura update for TDM at the same time he opens the tdm_updater tool, Windows will throw a fit and there will be errors about file overwrite problems. In reality, the Desura user is unlikely EVER to visit the actual mod folder so both positions are a little silly to war over. (But The Dark Mod devs paid blood and tears for their part).
What really needs to happen is for TDM to make an executable installer that will seek out the Doom 3 folder for the end-users. Then we will cut down on the confused user ratio. But I'm sure most would rather see that coding effort placed elsewhere, eh?
Now what I wanna know is what Desura would say to a commercial game that has an updater in it. Will they claim that mods for that game are impossible to support because Desura has an update feature too? What? HL2 updates itself all the time and potentially can conflict with inbound Desura updates? How did they resolve that problem?... Hmmm? ;)
I think you misunderstand; "amateur" is really the opposite of professional. It wasn't done by a professional (though it may match or surpass that quality), so it is technically an amateur job.
double click the updater. Piece of cake.
Desura is newbie(2009). Most of users are from moddb. Besides it's offers are more suitable for an indie game. Then what's indiedb for? lol
feillyne is the man... thanks brooo!
C-Doom 3 is so good. As is Hexen. Haven't played the rest. Good call for choices!
Nice. Hopefully Ruiner will get some new updates.
Hm, might make me want to give Desura a shot here sometime.
awesomeeeeeeeeee....
A dumb question but can the mods be used without desura installed?ie.loaded in doom 3 as a normal mod?Are there non-desura version of the mods?
You just need to have mods installed to be able to run them. You may be logged off Desura (your Desura may be switched off) when playing mods.
Desura is just for installing mods and having shortcuts of them. :-)
Thanks.Does that mean I can download the mods separately without having to download them through desura?
Yep
