Big thanks to the developer for this great game!
Hope you enjoy.
Im getting a white screen when I try to start the game up, are there any fixes?
You can run WFF_old.exe to fix it, this is a problem with Intel GPUs.
That version is extremely buggy, are there any other fixes?
As far as I'm aware there's only one issue with the intro level sprites being invisible (that's kind of not solve-able), other than that the game should work fine.
The enemys seem to be invincible.
The game is amazingly short, full of (bad?) humour and the ending was rather disappointing, but it was still somewhat fun.
But really, there should be a "Press M to display the map" notification once you're done dealing with the hobo & nerd at the very beginning of the game, because I spent a good 15 minutes wondering what the heck was I supposed to do, and apparently there's no placed triggers to leave the area (walking all the way to the right should bring up the map screen).
And I have the same "not-installed in Desura" problem.
I've tried mailing the Desura devs a lot of times, but there's not been any progress. Really sorry about that.
Wow, I'm glad I am not the only one having this problem. I've been checking to see if it gets fixed but have not been able to enjoy the game as I want because it does this. I install and play and then next time I start Desura it shows the game is not installed and I have to do it again. Very annoying. Is there a non-desura version of the game I can play? It would be easier than dealing with this. Wish this was on Steam :(
Will the Desura bug where the client doesn't think the game is installed ever be fixed? I realize that I can just launch the game from the game's folder as a work around, but I use the client to launch most of my games. Tried reinstalling it, still doesn't fix it.
Hi,
I've contacted Desura support, and they're asking if you could email them with the details of the problem (their email is support@desura.com), I'm sure the problem will be sorted out.
I'm confused as to why I would need to contact support when it's an issue that affects everyone and has been going on for a few months. You could test the issue yourself and then tell them what the problem is. Basically all you have to do is install the game, close the Desura client, relaunch the Desura client.. and then it'll act like the game isn't installed and ask to verify your game files before it'll let you launch the game again.
I posted on your game's profile page because I thought you'd want to know that the bug is still occuring. I'm sure at least a few people have reported it to Desura's support with no success of having it fixed.. it's been quite a while since the bug started occuring. I got it from Groupees Build a Bundle 2 and it's been occuring since then (so I guess it's been happening since July, if not possibly before then?).
I don't have the launcher problem (I followed your steps, it works for me - otherwise I definitely would have given them the details myself). The support guys told me it might be happening if you moved your Desura install, and told me to get the user to email them (which is what I did).
A few users have told me about this issue, but it's entirely related to the Desura client. I don't have any control over the Desura client's code, so I contacted them because that's all I can do here, sadly. :(
In the worst case scenario, I have a DRM free download available alongside the Desura download, in case the problem is impossible to solve.
I'm having the same problem that he's having. Opened up the client, installed the game, closed the client, relaunched it and it's "Not Ready" (i.e. no longer installed, according to the client). >.>
Would really appreciate a fix.
I've emailed the Desura support again, waiting for their reply now.
I emailed them yesterday and their first response was "That seems very strange, are you logging into multiple accounts?"
This is the only account I've ever logged into, so that's definitely not the problem. I told them that, and now I'm waiting for a followup reply.
That's very strange. Every friend I asked to test the problem had the same issue, along with a lot of people that installed the game when Build a Bundle 2 was live, many people talked about it in the Groupees chat. No idea why it works for you, but no one else I've come in contact with. I never moved my Desura install. This is the only game out of my entire Desura game collection that has this issue. I'm really surprised it hasn't been fixed yet. I might contact their support, but I highly doubt it'll solve anything, otherwise it would've been fixed months ago..
I've contacted the Desura support about the issue, it seems really strange that it's taking so long to fix it.
