The game takes place in a realistic sci-fi setting, in a plausible future without Faster-than-Light travel. Humans landed on a Tau Ceti planet in 2238 after a 100 year journey. Over the generations, the Tau Ceti colonists lost the advanced equipment which was brought to the planet and the descendants formed simple frontier societies based on farming, fishing and trade.

Maps and Scenarios

In various scenarios and maps we explore the history of the planet’s colonization. The scenarios serve as an introduction to the game mechanics and will prepare you for the open-ended maps where you can challenge yourself, building up a colony from scratch. Below are descriptions of maps and scenarios that are available:

Fields of Tau Ceti

These are open-ended maps that take place in a primitive future centuries after planetfall. You begin with a community equipped for either hunting, farming or fishing and work off the land. Apart from an old robot, the people use simple technology such as smithing, small scale farming and black powder:

Twinkler Island

A scenario with a team of planet explorers that have crash-landed on an island and must wait for rescue. They are attacked by pack predators, the so-called “twinklers” and must locate their nests and come up with a way to clear them out:

Open-ended scenario where you grow a small farm community by expanding into rubber production, extracting sap from a dangerous swamp:

The Clay Pit

Open-ended tutorial where a scruffy crew of laborers make mudbricks for sale. See if you can turn the camp into a permanent settlement:

Tutorial scenario that teaches you the game as you guide a group of stranded sailors to find food, fight ‘bush dragons’ and build a signal pyre on top of an island:

...The maps and scenarios are hand-made but we ensure replayability by randomizing starting location, number of resources, colonists, trade goods, animals etc.

Our game was conceived in 2008 and gradually grew in scope. We're now very happy to release it after about 2 years in Early Access. With the release version we add a new map, called

Muckroot Mining Site

In this large, open-ended map you start off with a mining crew who are extracting rare-earth metals in an alien landscape, while fortifying against the ferocious 'swarmer quadites' that live there. Your mining crew are free to settle on the nearby grasslands and switch to farming, fishing and trading, attempting to draw in people from the neighbor sites. They will use a mix of advanced and primitive technology.

Great concept - CHECK, Great artwork - CHECK, I'll reserve judgement on mechanics when I can play it. I hope it isnt overpriced! Really looking forward to this one.

The game concept could well fit in Star Trek kind of games where they usually work in groups and need to find common decisions to try out and find which works or not to solve their problems or puzzles, mysteries~
It would require a great AI but it definitely would be fun to be part of the crew and work your way up in the field you want to be in, it could work in multiplayer too, depends on what you do with it~

Well if you ever decide to make such a Star Trek game then I would definitely be interested in it~ Great job on the concept and realizing it, it certainly opens new doors~ ^^
