About Prometheus Wept

In Prometheus Wept, on a near future earth, a potent virus disables the majority of computerised technology in a matter of hours, casting mankind into a new dark age. The action of Prometheus Wept occurs several generations after the fall. You will assume the role of a classical technologist living among the shattered remnants of humanity, driven to discover and restore the technological and cultural relics of the mythical mid 21st century.

Key Features

  • Turn (AP) and Party Based Tactical Combat: battle it out with a variety of melee, ranged and explosive weapons, with aimed and special attacks, powerful perk-based abilities, attacks of opportunity and more.
  • Digitise your consciousness and infiltrate corrupted computer networks as an Avatar. You allies must protect your body from threats in the physical world while you battle the network's security protocols.
  • Use The Environment To Your Advantage: Destroy cover to leave enemies exposed, use a variety of environmental objects against your foes, and exploit interactions between the primal forces of fire, water and electricity to your advantage.
  • Deep Character Progression: Build your team using the ADAPTED character system, which comprises 7 stats, 17 skills and a huge variety of perks. Throughout the game, you will meet and ally with exceptional individuals, each with their own unique set of perks.
  • Meaningful Choices, Little and Large: Will you pay an odd, roadside priest for a blessing or ignore him? Will you help overthrow a questionable oligarchy, or cement their position against growing unrest? After all, in the post virus world, civilized is a relative term.
  • Deep Crafting System: Create a large variety of weapons, armour, explosives, gadgets, combat stims and medical supplies. The quality of the crafted item is determined by the quality of the blueprints you possess, your crafting skill and the quality of the components used.

Hi there-

I hope you're doing well! I've just wrapped up the militia branch of the act 1 finale, in which you will battle the rebels to retain control of the city-state, Sunny Pines. That means all the encounters designed, written, implemented and debugged across the five maps the finale can play out over. While working on the finale, I added code to:

- Allow AI characters to target objects
- Allow AI characters to spend AP activating objects
- Improve trap mechanics
- Equip a faction's troops

Debugging these additions ate a fair bit of time, so I'd expect the rebel finale will be quicker to complete. The focus for the next couple of months will be the rebel finale, along with making the maps more interesting with small encounters and loot. Then it'll finally be early access time.

Olga has been working on illustrations for key characters and has completed the artwork for Markus Tiber, Sheriff of Sunny Pines, and sociopath/con man, Ferdia Beckett.

Militia Finale:

- The finale starts after completing recruitment, crafting and purchasing of equipment for the militia.
- Sunny Pines comes under attack by a substantial rebel force, which will attack different districts with different attacks, including a head on attack of the main gates, encouraging rioting, attacking infrastructure, and more.
- If you are defeated in any fight, you regroup with what remains of the leadership and militia for a last ditch defence. If you win this battle, you'll push back the rebels and will launch an attack on their HQ. If you lose the battle, Sunny Pines will fall under rebel control and you'll move on to act 2.

Hi JuiceIngot - the virus pulled humanity back from a golden age, destroying our digital infrastructure and all our digitally stored knowledge. There's more going on about the nature of the virus, but your character in the game is interested in finding and restoring golden age technological artifacts.
