PARPG is an old school 2d isometric roleplaying game, inspired by genre classics such as Fallout, Arcanum and Planescape: Torment. We've just recently shipped our first techdemo release and are now in planning stages for the second techdemo. The team has agreed upon the following key elements: * Singleplayer RPG; no multiplayer or coop gameplay support * Post-apocalyptic setting nuclear winter setting. Story and game mechanics details are still getting fleshed at the moment * Meaningful choices and consequences; multiple paths to complete quests, including non-violent ways * Emphasis on well-written detailed branching tree dialogue * Tactical, turnbased combat * Written in Python (2.5.x / 2.6.x branch); utilizing the FIFE game engine * Isometric 2d perspective instead of going for full 3d engine complexity * Open source code and asset licensing * Open development philosophy; public development wiki and forums; anonymous SVN checkout

Is there anywhere we could see more of Gaspard's work ? It's really nice.
I didn't intially post it here, but we're currently working to get the project back on the track and we're (slowly) moving towards a 2nd techdemo release.
We'll be mostly focusing on improving the engine at this point as there is too much functionality missing at this point to add new content; especially the content pipeline and tools aren't fleshed out yet.
Anyway, for all still interested in the project:

I'll post another little update at the blog this week, covering our plans and the way towards techdemo 2.

Tracking the project progress has never been easier!
Just FYI guys, the project is still in the works according to the blog, and the devs have asked to spread the news in any RPG-communities you know.
Now this is the sort of thing that can really make my day. I'm just wondering around Moddb, and suddenly I find this project to make a game that mimics some of my all-time favorites and (according to the blog) is still in active development. I'd like to see more ambitious indie RPGs like this. Cheers guys!
looks good :)
Fallout ftw! Tracking ;)
Oh and really nice concept art by the way!
hell yes !!! now that looks damn promising - tracked !
Excellent!!!!!!! TRACKING
