Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries is a battlemech piloting simulation and part of the Mechwarrior and Battletech universe unleashed by FASA Studios. In April 2010, MekTek received permission from Microsoft to release the game for free using their MekMatch torrenting program. Now that MekTek has refocused its energies on Mechwarrior Online, it is up to the community to keep the classic mech piloting tradition alive. This group will also serve as a platform for downloading new content created by the community, including new maps and mech decals, some of which have been hosted by other enthusiast sites.
This file pack contains a number of decals which were shared between mechwarriors in the course of combat operations. Winrar is required to open this file.
Want even more customization to share with your friends (or enemies) online? Throw these decals onto the side of your mech and rub the opposition's nose in them!
When you take your mech into battle with a custom decal, you'll automatically share that decal with everyone fighting alongside you (or against you)!
This file pack contains a number of custom decals used by various mech pilots from all over the Inner Sphere!
When you play online against other mechwarriors, all custom decals used by those in the server will be downloaded and displayed in the "transfer" folder inside the "customdecals" folder. This file pack contains these "transfer" decals which we discovered in our copies of Mechwarrior 4.
Note: In the event some of the decals do not appear in the Options menu, one solution is to add the decals in small batches each time, then check to see if they have been recognized in the Options menu. Otherwise, add only what decals you would like to use, and remove the remaining decals.
A tutorial for making custom decals has been posted on the Mechwarrior 4 Wiki
Both Photoshop and/or Gimp are required to make a truly proper decal.
Note: Using Gimp will allow you to make minor adjustments and improvements to your decals without having to begin the entire process over again from the start.
