A survival shooter set in Central Asia after the end of civilization.
this was made prior to the new lighting system, btw, it'll be re-adapted
map by hazard24
also don't talk about that goddamn devtextured thing in the background, yes it exists, we know
Looking good as always! I like the contrast between the shadows and light.
Looks amazing; BUT! Do you think there is anything that can be done about the metal textures? They repeat horribly and also look a bit too 2D, making the building look like it's made out of cardboard. Aside from that, this is fantastic mapping.
I dont think it is repetitice. IF you have a closer look, you will see that the plates just look the same from a distance. And besides, if the builders just had no material for this house, its obvious that they had to use the only thing they had... metal. AND: Your not supposed to look at that thing. Never. Read the description
People don't build massive warehouses out of scrap metal. The design is obviously intentional but rusted and decayed due to age.
I agree. Architecturally it looks excellent but that texture lets it down.
@Hannibal0: Froggum wasn't talking about the dev-textured object.
Eyecandy
Hey, did you guys notice that goddamned devtextured thing in the background?
I'm just making sure you know it exists.
warehouse is the important thing in this image :P
looks very... dilapidated
Looks like something from fallout, great work
uuuuuuh beautifull
This looks excellent. I'm a huge fan of the open area. But I would improve that building's look in the following ways:
1. Remove a few portions of wall from the top half of the building to make it look like it partially collapsed, thereby exposing a rusted metal frame.
2. Use some wood or stone for the bottom half of the first floor, especially in whichever areas would be considered to contain actual rooms (offices, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc) instead of warehouse space.
3. Add windows. There is plenty of room for dramatic lighting inside that building, I am sure of it.
Be sure to switch this map over to the dynamic lighting system before revising this building's design...and use some generic light entities to help simulate radiosity, especially indoors.
For some reason that's remain me "wild wild west"...
I love yous skies
Incredible work, as always.
wallpaper much?
that look's ******* delicious
This just screams "BORDERLANDS" to me somehow...nice work!
nice!
wow that looks great, great detail and texture. how about a closer picture :D
Get some reference pictures and retexture that poor building.
I disagree with the comments about the lighting. The effect of the lighting on foliage isn't good, with grass too bright and trees too dark. Shadows are inconsistent, too dark on the right half of the image, and decent on the left half... on the buildings anyway.
The description. You must read it.
The lighting is going to be redone.
If this was made prior to the new lighting system, then I sure as hell cannot wait to see what the new iteration would look like. Because this is fantastic!
If you own batman: arkham city, you could always have a look at the steel mill for reference. It's essentially the same thing, but it looks really nice the way they've textured it and everything.
