I can't figure out how to properly set this up. I've tried added the files required after updating an old version of half life but the main screen doesn't look like how it should and I keep getting an error message that asks me to put the half life cd into my computer. I've also tried selecting the folder location of the press demo whilst using the updater but that didn't work either.
What version of Half-Life are you using?
Make sure you are using Half-Life 1.0.1.3
The official 1.0.1.5 patch is also able to run the game
I installed version 1.0.0.5 from the wayback machine, updated it with 10051013.exe from this Archive.org , and added the files required after it finished intalling the patch

I did. I stated in the original comment that it didn't work after I put the required files in the demo.
Alright. Maybe try asking people in Magic's Discord server. Invite: Discordapp.com
install half life first update it then copy opposing force folder to half life folder the run half life then select custom game.
I've tried exactly that but it doesn't appear for whatever reason.
Listen bro theres supposed be a fix on this page in comments dont install because it mess's with half life I backed up the files the installer said but it dont work i'll try the fix.
Sorry it's made not to work with steam you need a standalone half life.
