The Neinzul are an insectoid race of perpetual "younglings" that live for an extremely short span before dying and being superseded by fully-aware and vicious replacements. Their Enclaves form mini-collectives with their own personalities, goals, and desires. In this second expansion to AI War, players face off against the Neinzul minor factions, against new AI types in general, and enlist the help of the friendlier members of this new alien presence.
Enclave Starships bring a long-awaited feature: mobile space docks. New map types and new capturables add more excitement. Optionally, Hybrid Hives bring a new type of AI logic to the game: these free agents are like a coordinated pack of velociraptors hunting you against the backdrop of the regular AI forces. For advanced players, the Hybrid Hives provide more cut-throat opposition than ever.
The staff at Arcen has long admired the work done by Child's Play, and was ecstatic to be able to contribute to the cause between 2010 and 2013. Our goal for 2010 was to raise $14,000.00 USD for Child's Play, but over the course of the charity period, we raised and donated $44,597.02!
Want to read about all the features in extreme detail? You can of course try the demo of the expansion to make sure that you know what you're getting, but the full feature list is also now available on the AI War wiki. There's quite a bit in this one even though it's technically a micro-expansion rather than a full expansion!
* 36 new ships, including:
* 5 new ship classes with a variety of abilities.
* Enclave Starships and Regeneration Chambers for direct unlock.
* 6 new AI special weapons.
* 6 new AI Types.
* 3 Neinzul alien minor factions (NPCs).
* Devastating new Hybrid Hives AI plot.
* 3 new in-game music tracks.
* Two new map styles: X and Concentric Circles.
As of today, we have so far raised and donated $44,597.02 for Child's Play! That's $10,102.82 since our last update, all of which has already gone directly to the charity. Our AI War: Children of Neinzul donation goal was originally $14,000.00, and in the end we were able to reach 317% of that goal.

The charity period has now ended for that expansion, but we're extremely proud of what we've been able to accomplish with your help during that period. We hope to be able to be able to run our own direct charity support programs again in the future, but for now we're indirectly supporting other causes like Rizeup Gaming and similar via product donations.
