Open-source reboot of James Bond 007: Nightfire. The primary purpose of this mod is to recreate and improve the experience of the PC version of Nightfire, and to provide in the process an open-source codebase that will allow for extension and refinement. The Xash3D (GoldSrc) engine was chosen because its codebase is fully available, it's smaller and simpler than Source, it's closer to the genuine Nightfire engine, and it doesn't come with the expectation that games will be photorealistic (I don't have the time or the energy as a single hobbyist to be working on some sort of HD photorealistic remake).

For all the source code and up-to-date releases, check out the GitHub page. Releases will appear on the GitHub releases page first, and will be mirrored on this site in due course. For the most up-to-date live builds (which may be less stable), check the GitHub Actions page.

Interesting idea, although I'm not entirely sure what the main goal is? Or is it just to have an open source version of Nightfire? I'm intrigued though, and definitely interested to help with development if you like. I've wanted to remake Nightfire and combine the PC and console versions to make one really epic game for years, but have stuck with making my own singleplayer campaign mod for now as I felt that was more achievable. I mainly do mapping but can also do some basic modelling and music making, but please let me know if you want some help with this :) I look forward to the future of this project.
