Have your say in how the default Pulse Rifle in the game is configured! This will effect SP and MP equally!


Head to this link and submit a vote, I've set the Poll to end with the month of April to give plenty of time for people to vote! I will start using this site to ask other questions if this one gets a good response. I think this is a good way to find out how the community as a whole would like the game!

V3 had the classic overwrite the mk2 And then Hudson's was burst? I can't recall lol. Yeah, that was a good setup. Maybe do this again! To make Hudon's a bit more unique, it could be more accurate and lower recoiled when hip fired like he did in the movie.

In fact,20th FOX ever published a offical material book named "Aliens - Colonial Marines Technical Manual".It says"The stanard M41 ammunition clip will hold up to 99 M309 rounds in an 'U' bend conveyor...However,in pratice the clip are only filled to 95% capacity in order to reduce the autoloader's tendecy to jam."

I personally think the MK2 Pulse Rifle should stay. I like the idea of having Heavy and Light variations of the weapon with the Classic being better for medium range and the MK2 better for long distance.

Having the 95/99 version makes the extended mag option pointless. You get a slower reload time for a measly 5 extra bullets.

Having the 45-95 option makes the extended mag upgrade meaningful.

If the Mk2 is coming back I had a suggestion in a previous thread:

Mk2 is burst only, reflecting the US M16A2. Where the Hudson classic can be automatic, like the M16A1. Since I'd imagine they both fire the same 10mm ammo, they can probably have the same damage, but the Mk2 would be more refined in recoil and accuracy.

If 95-99 magazine cap is too insignificant a difference, maybe make default 48 (when you see Ripley get the rifle tutorial from Hicks) and if you add extended, it can be 95 with the slowed down reload.

48 to 95 would be a good compromise. I still prefer the 40/60 otherwise the pulse rifle is the best all round weapon (like the plasma cutter in Dead Space) and the others can be ignored without consequence.

Oops... I think it read 42, not 48 when Ripley first learned the rifle. Then yeah, the more known 95 when she loaded up to save Newt. :)

You know they never go to 99 right, that's just the max the counter can show. In the movie, the higher ever is 95

I think it's better to keep the MK2 PR. But, I do propose that you upload an optional MK1 PR download for those who prefer the MK1 over the MK2

If you look at the results on the poll, and the map where people voted from, I find it hilarious everyone in London apparently voted from the Wine Shop and Cellar Bar "Social Wine & Tapas" :P

What would be the chances of getting a tiny bit of zoom on the ironsights, laser, and reflex sight? It's pretty weird getting a DOF blur effect on the weapon without there being any zoom, and having it look a little like it's being held an arms length away instead of shouldered. It would be pretty nice if all weapons had just a little zoom even on their ironsights, just like the assault rifle ironsights are currently. (Doesn't make as much sense for pistols though, since you don't shoulder those.)

The Mk2 PR model in the game is actually a DIFFERENT 3d model to the one from the movie. By all intents and purposes it is simply a different rifle. It should stay the Mk 2 with the ammo originally coded in the game. Rof should be canon original though (950rpm) with the upgrade giving 1200rpm (that's why it sounds different to the bassy movie version.)
