the code supplied for this model includes the code for turrets to be able to rotate, gun barrels to elevate up and down, and fire arch limitations so that gun turrets to not turn and fire into the center of the ship.
Ok I downloaded it, and there is no instructions or anything, just a text document of jibberish. I am a newb at this, so how do you apply this text data to the game, to get these new ships and mods like this to work?
in each model download, there is a microsoft word document that states 13 installation steps directing how to insert the model and add the needed xml code to the proper game files in order for each unit to appear in the game. To begin modding, the FOC map editor must be installed, which should install the games hidden XML folder in the DATA folder. Inside DATA/ there is a folder called XML, the XML files are all the code files that the game needs to work. Several XML documents must be altered in order for the new model to appear.
Some new Tutorial documents have also been uploaded that should be read by anyone who is new to modding to gain a better understanding of how the games files need to be edited.
