Finally the full release of this epic mod! Total War: 1942 released!
Total War: 1942 has been released!
Thank you first of all for waiting all that months after the demo. We worked very hard on this total rework of vanilla Rome: Total War. And here it is: a fully working version with campaign!
Instructions:
1) Extract all the content inside the folder "Total War - 1942 (v1.0)" to the root of your Rome: Total War version.
If you have BI installed, you dont need to copy the bi folder. If you dont have bi, you need to copy bi folder too.
2) Run the movie swapper to get our intro movies. (run it again to swap old intro back)
3) After extracting, open the Total War - 1942.exe and start playing!
Note that there are 2 kind of custom battles: Battles fought on sea, and battles fought on land. Keep the custom battles seperated (all units are in the faction selection screen, so use ships for SEA maps, and the rest for land maps).
Multiplayer:
In the included README file there is a guide how to play this mod multiplayer on GameRanger.
NOTES:
We are aware of random crashes during campaigns. This is because the game engine is very old and we are overloading the engine a bit with all those content. So save the game more often and restart when you have a crash. When you are really stuck in the campaign, contact us.
The file you have selected (Total_War_-_1942_v1.0.zip) is not available via any mirrors. Please check back shortly as our servers update every 5 minutes. I have never faced this problem. Shall I wait?

If that happens just try again in a short while. Probably you were too fast.
2 things: 1) for steam, what is the difference between the classic rome launcher
and the BI one
2) the Maus description is kinda wrong. The Maus never serviced in the
army. Only 2 of them were produced but they never left the factory
because of technical issues
As far as I know 1 did get to the frontline but we have no combat info about it.

I've followed your instructions and installed it, but when I launch the game it gives an error message about not finding localized string house. This is on the steam version
Have you followed the steam instructions? Its a little bit more difficult to install mods on steam :)

It looks like in 1.0 version there are still some left overs from vanilla (powerful faith = democracy, militia barracks, scriptorium). I hope I installed it OK.
Yes :) For the first release we kept the buildings, otherwise it took another year to release the mod.
So in another release the buildings will be changed
I got black screen everytime I try to play it, it runs and audio works etc but the screen is black :(

Hii, I tried installing this and when i launch the game it comes up 'Failed to initialise 3D audio!' Any ideas how to get round it ?
Follow tutorials and be sure you put the launcher inside the right directory
try to copy "miles" to game folder:)

Hey so I re-installed this mod launcher 3 times and it still comes up with error files with models, and then it has a error in the database and it says the culture names aren't valid. Please help I have watched your install video multiple times but i cant seem to find a solution.
Please download this first update manually and follow the installation instructions. Then place the launcher and run it to update the mod :)
