Hi! I played your game, "The Prism" and really liked it. I've always wanted to make games like you did and you inspired me. Of course I understand that doing something of that caliber is no easy task but I want to see how far I can go. So I was wondering, to make a game like that, how did you do it? Did you use a programming language or perhaps some game designer program and what would you recommend I try? I do have a bit of programming knowledge through Codecademy. Thanks for actually reading this far and hopefully responding.
I apologize for the really late response as I've been busy with Ravager among other things.I seldom check my profile, but focus on my games. It really touches me to hear that i inspired people like you. In order to make a game like the Prism, I used a program called Game Maker Studio. It has its own built in language but also drag and drop components. Personally, I do not consider myself an experienced coder, so i try to make up for it with my artistic ability. It took me about 2-3 months over the summer to make the Prism, but it was not my first game. I had created and explored and designed a few other test games in my earlier years before i got good enough to make a game like the Prism worth publishing. I highly recommend getting Game Maker Studio and teaching yourself through youtube videos. Its easy to pick up and intuitive for users. Don't expect to do well on your first game, but it is something attainable and easy.
Good Luck!
