The purpose of this mod is to redesign the original combat music system, add more customization through the MCM menu, and fix some of its problems.
What does this mod do?
This mod reworks the dynamic music system. With this mod, you will have the opportunity to customize some of its functions (via the MCM menu), as well as choose various musical themes. For information on how to add your own music theme, see below! By default, the mod has two musical themes. The first theme is combat music from DOOM Eternal, and the second is from the composer Audiomachine.
MCM Settings:
Compatibility
This mod modifies the original script "xrs_dyn_music.script", so any mod that affects it will not be compatible!!! Tested on Anomaly 1.5.2.
Installation
Use the Mod Organizer 2.
Addons
- In addition to the two standard themes, there is also a musical theme that contains combat music from the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy, from the COMBAT MUSIC RESTORED + EXTENDED mod by NeboStrelok1154.
How to add a music theme?
First of all, add your music to the gamedata\sounds folder. Then, in the gamedata\configs\plugins\combat_music folder, create the file "theme_[your name].ltx". After that, in the newly created file, create your section, which will contain a list of your music. In this section, write down the path to your music, like this:
After that, your music theme will appear in the "Musical theme" option in the MCM menu.
NOTE:
- If the "Random playback order" option is disabled, then the order of music playback will be carried out according to the order in which the music is recorded in the LTX section of the file.
- In order for the name of your music theme to be displayed correctly in the list in the MCM menu, you need to add a translation with the identifier "st_CombatMusicTheme_[your music theme LTX section]" to the game, like this:

Update 2
- Attempt to fix a rare issue that cause the game to crash/freezing.
Update 1
- Added a 25-meter offset of the combat distance to fade out the music to prevent multiple switching of the music state when the enemy is on the border distance of the "Combat distance to play" option value.
Oh yes, finally something with customization! In meat battles like faction wars (if I'm not mistaken, no clue how it correctly on English) this is must have.
Thanks for creating this plugin, it will help me with a mod I'm working on that is for combat music :)
Does this addon solve the problem that the game freezes sometimes or that the music volume is set to 0 automatically? If so, thank you very much, finally the dynamic music works 10/10.
Fortunately yes, I played about 30 minutes. Also as noice bonus no crashes and freezes.
cool, thx
For me its still freezing, its rare, but problem still there
Ah ****! I should spend more time for that then to see freezes.
Try the new version and let me know if the problem still here.
Okay, thanks, i'll test this!
For me already worked fine, but still better to play it safe. Thank you for fixes!
Man this is amazing, does this keep the little stuttering problems and the crashes ? Also wonder if i can customice mutant music appart from npc (diferent tracks for mutant than for npc, that would be amazing!)
Hi! I’m the Custom OST Composer for G.A.M.M.A., I wanted to ask if you would be okay with the idea of me using this mod as a framework for a dynamic combat music system in GAMMA, let me know, and fantastic work!
Sure. You can use it.
I decided to make an addon for this... ahem, addon, which adds noice music from legendary Painkiller (plus its expansion pack) from old gold 2004 year. Contains almost all songs (except for boss themes and Leningrad theme because they're obviously don't fit, especially the second one), commented oggs and edited original .xml text files.

Reminds me that i need to redo the CS combat music and maybe tidy up the Prototype combat tracks.
If random playback is selected will it still play themes that're in several parts in order?
Music will be played in random order from the currently selected theme.
hello good sir, I have a question, I would like a specific theme to sound, for example a theme to sound when entering a laboratory, is it possible to achieve something like that?
Hey Orleon, I'm unsure if i did everything correctly, my soundtrack is unable to play yet the title of my music is there, are you able to at some point provide a video tutorial of how to do everything correctly including the xml and ltx files? Thanks in advance.
Make sure you have correctly converted your music to .ogg format
Thank you, ill be sure to try that today at some point.
I've been trying to make this work in the GAMMA modpack. It shouldn't be conflicting with anything, and I'm pretty sure I've set up everything well (the music files are all .ogg as well), but I always get this error message when switching to my custom playlist:

Dear Author I wanted to ask If I could publish an addon for this addon as I have successfully added Trepang2 theme and made it so when you merge in Mod Organizer2 it works perfectly.
Sure.
