This addon for BrutalDoom v21 adds 2 new weapons and a bot companion to the game. It also improves the "freezedeath" system with 8 new angle sprites for each monster.
This addon is meant to be played with BrutalDoom v21 latest version.
Use a launcher like ZDL and place CatsFrozenAddon_1.0.pk3 after brutaldoomv21.pk3 in the load order.
Cat's Frozen addon for BrutalDoom v21 contains :

- Added a compatibility patch to use this addon with Tomtefar's Extension.
- Added frozen sprites for the SMG guy, the Cyberdemon and the SpiderMastermind
- Increased freezer damages from 10 to 20

Where does this come from ? Is this an explosion from a freeze grenade ? Those ice explosions doesn't have brightmaps so it's strange

and i think freeze grenade need a nerf becausr it deals 3000 damage and it can kill cyberdemon easily
Yeah indeed the freezenade is OP, i didn't balance my weapons a lot, I wait for some more feedback and i'll make some adjustments.

The Freezer has the Plasma Gun pick up sprite.
it is just in hud but can be fixed

I have an idea for an addon is the ability to bash enemies with the buttstock of your Assault Rifle and Shotgun when kicking while aiming down the sights. This was planned by Sarge as shown in an old video but he scrapped it for some reason.
It won't be easy as there are no good sprites for the buttstock bash
anyway you could add a key bind to quick throw a freeze nade?
That was the plan initialy but i did forget to implement that. I'll try to do it for the next version.
There is a bug with this addon: sometimes the normal weapons really "cool" the enemies. I think it's related to the icy grenades, but i'm not sure.

I think that's related to the "no headshot/legshot coding for freeze weapons."
It could be conflicting with the default weapons a little. that chain gunner only did the "cooling" when you headshot him.
I forgot to take back the "hasfreezerweapon" token after you lanch a freezenade so every weapon used after a freezenade is considered as a freeze damage weapon... It'll fixed in the next version. Really funny gif btw it's looping perfectly !

didnt work, even if i delete bd_fixes from the folder, it still doesnt work.
I can get it to work every now and then, but i have to drag and drop up to 4 times to get it to register. ZDL works about 90% of the time. Ill use that for now

I also noticed that for the moment, it is not possible to unload the freezing rifle. So we can not get the ammunition for now.
I've just added the unload state. I think I will upload an update very soon, i don't see anything more to fix for now
edit:i understood "unloading the secondary fire" but you surely meant unloading the ammo back into ammocell... i can be pretty dumb sometimes, i'll make this possible in the next version ^^
not using ZDL was my problem. this addon just doesn't like drag and drop apparently.

Neat addon, but I only have one nitpick. The arms on some of the reload sprites have visible sprite cut-off when playing on widescreen displays. I have fixed the sprites to make them suitable for widescreen players. I will send them in a private message if that's fine.

Here's a bug report for ya. The SSG can freeze the enemies, too, which is weird. That imp at the very beginning of the video was also frozen by an SSG shot.
Oh no, not this bug I though it was fixed ! Did you experienced this with version 1.0.2 ? Have you thrown a freeze grenade before this happened ? It's something going wrong with my "has a freezeweapon" token which is given to the player when he shot with a freeze weapon and apparently not taken back properly.
Yes, it was the latest version. No, I did not use a freeze grenade. I just started that map, and I usually forget that I have your addon loaded lol
I tried my best to reproduce this bug but didn't manage to. I played through doom 2 for about 45 min without freezing a single monster with the ssg. Maybe I changed something since i uploaded v 1.0.2 which I don't remember... I'll upload v1.0.3 very soon, maybe you could try out and tell me if it still happens

This seems rather inconsistent, but I managed to freeze an imp (and a minigun zombie) with dual SMGs, too. I'll do more testing soon.
I'd also like to point out that this kind of stuff starts to happen later in the game, at least for me.

Ridiculous indeed :) It's weird, the only way i've been able to repoduce this is by giving myself the "hasfreezerweapon" token. Have you ever used the freezer or the freezenades in this save before it happened ?
Yes. I was using them quite often, because they're very fun to use.
If you still experience this bug try to type "take hasfreezerweapon" in the command console and see if it happens back later... It shouldn't, if it does I know what can permanently solve this bug but it'll be a lot of work...
Looking at your code it's pretty obvious for me what's casuing this bug, and it's easy to fix. Will send you a PM.

Naah... That's one way to do it, but it's highly inefficient.
Instead, just add "A_Takeinventory("HasFreezerWeapon",1)" under the weapons (freezer and freezegrenade) deselect state. :)
