Simple upscale for the UI fonts for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly to look appropriate on 1440p displays. Much easier to read, especially for someone with deteriorating eyesight like myself.

This tiny mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly simply increases the original font size by a factor of 1.5, making it look more appropriate on 1440p resolution. A bit blurry but nice and big(ger). Oh and I believe it only works on 16:9, but don't quote me on that....
Oh and I"m using RC19, but that shouldn"t matter... older version use the same fonts, I think...
First uninstall all other mods that change the fonts etc. Then, like almost all other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly mods, put the gamedata folder included in the downloaded archive into you main root game directory.
I recommend using a mod manager, like Mod Organizer 2.
Recently having found rene13cross' Anomaly Fonts for 4K+ Resolutions I have wondered if I could do the same for 1440p. And I could... Took a lot of effort and fiddling with GIMP 2 and Excel/Notepad++ but I finally did it: Made the font on my 1440p display work without being either too small to comfortably read or comically large. I simply took the original files (font-.dds files and .ini files and scaled their size and values respectively by 1.5. I believe rene13cross did the same for his version but with a factor of 2). Big sigh of relieve when it finally worked! (That's how you spend your Sunday in lock-down, boys and girls...)
My work was rather brute force in nature and due to the fact that I had to use a factor of 1.5 I very often ended up with decimals (*.5) for the values in the .ini files. So I had to decide whether I wanted to round up or down. I chose the former. Since I was a bit unsure whether or not that was the right thing to do I would ask you to report any issues you have (like letters looking strange or weird offset pixels in text) straight to me. I'll try and figure out a solution as soon and as best as I can.
v1.01: Fixed a few rounding that slipped under my radar. Nothing major, but something I did not want to leave unfixed. I also removed the _old folder. I was a leftover from working on it and includes the completely non-rounded values. If you still have it from the previous version you can delete or keep it. It serves no purpose.

As for permissions revolving this mod: Do whatever the f*ck you want with it: Make patches, include it in your mod packs, re-upload to Russian porn-sites, I don't care... It is not properly aligned and a bit small but it is at least readable. letterica18 is a bit small and the original letterica25 is a bit large.

I keep coming back here everytime I install anomaly from scratch to get these directions as the mod slightly messes up the SIDHUD Mod. I am suggesting you post these comments to your description, they work like a charm. BTW, yes, I changed the values all to 18 size font in both files (maingame_16 and maingame). Thank you this mod is a lifesaver for 1440 monitors

Could a similar fix to the one I posted above work? I use neither of the HUD mods, so I cannot say for certain how to fix it.

Oh, and I've encontoured a bug. Inside the inventory, When hovering with the cursor above the radiation, burn and psychic resistance stats, the details text box is way too big, and doesn't fit in the screen.
Happened in version 1.5.0 RC19, and now in versio 1.5.1 too.
Don't have the game installed at the moment, so I'll to take a look at those things when I go for another playthrough.

But I have to admit, ballistic resistance is missing the header but that's nothing game-breaking.
I'm running the full release of 1.5.1, though. Maybe this could have fixed for for you, too?
As for your other request, I don't remember step by step how I changed the files, only that it was suuuuper cumbersome. Do you have scripting experience? In the description of this mod, I describe the general basics of what I did. Someone who can script (not me unfortunately) could make the whole process much easier...
This doesn't work on DX8/DX9 renders, all fonts show up as gibberish. I found out that this is because of an odd resolution of texture files, older renders/DirectX types don't like these, for some reason.
The solution is to increase texture file layer boundary size to "normal" values (384x768 > 512x1024 etc.) with zero offset, and since symbol positions are calculated from 0,0 coordinates nothing really is changed but this allows the game to read texture files on older renders.

I also agree with another user that fonts are a little too big (still usable) for 1440p and more suited for 1620p, at least on my setup (Nvidia DSR on 1080p monitor).

Trying right now on 2560x1660, fonts are a little bit too big. How can I scale them a little bit down?
Same here. I understand the mod author as he said can't see too well, but a lot of us who can it's like playing with the 4K+ Fonts mod. Is it possible to get a much smaller version, like just increase the base games fonts by a quarter? I have a 1440p monitor and my entire screen gets covered by the dynamic messages whenever they pop up.
This is really great. Unfortunately due to how the pixel text works in Anomaly, its not easily scalable. I know its made for 1440p but i was hoping to use it for 1080p as well and the text is absurdly large for it.
I have a bit of difficulty reading text in Anomaly even on 23inch screen and 1080p.
If someone could make a better, if slightly bigger text version for 1920x1080, i would really appreciate it.
Text is little to big because author has scaled fonts by x1.5 factor while 1440p resolution is approximately x1.33 of 1080p.
No matter if this is designer choice or simple mistake, fonts are bigger than intended and can make some text misaligns.
Edit: I made improved version of 1440p fonts with properly rescaled (smaller) text and support for every DX version. You can download it here: Moddb.com

very useful if you use nvidia DSR to render at 4K and downscale to 2K resolution. Fonts were minuscole but with your mod they are readeable again
