Play Info
Ancient Aliens has been tested in ZDoom, Eternity, PrBoom-plus 2.5.1.4 (complevel 9) and Zandronum. The maps have been balanced for pistol starts but continuous should be fine if that's your preference.
ZDoom and Eternity provide story screens and menu-selected episodes. Additionally, Ancient Aliens uses ACS to play sound effects occasionally in ports that support ACS such as ZDoom and Eternity. Using ZDoom or Eternity is highly recommended.
Gameplay mods should work if they use .png graphics. If the mod contains a custom palette, you will need to adjust load order so that the Ancient Aliens palette is used. You'll know something is wrong if all the textures look garbled.

I'm Not saying it was Aliens, but it was Aliens.
Wow. It's very interesting megawad.
Very bad works with Brutal Doom. Conflict textures and some colors.
Very hard. Ammo extremely little. Only berserk and chainsaw. Not love that gameplay..
Well of course it doesn't work well with Brutal Doom, man, what did you actually expect? This was in no way designed with Brutal Doom in mind. Try playing it without an gameplay mods for the intended experience.
Try with Project Brutality. I have tried but with low ammo is very difficult. May i try with Guncaster
Play it without BD..
play it with final doomer it has ancient aliens class built in!
Almost a whole year late but this guy is right
Not every Doom WAD requires an overhyped mod like Brutal Doom/Project Brutality. Some mods are good as it is. Russian Overkill comes to mind if the WAD is too hard then.
Very, very interesting megaWAD. Refreshing colorful maps, and they give a completely different vibe than many other map packs. The downside, is ammo supply. For the enemy I'm facing, I require more ammo. Map01 put me up against a Cyberdemon right from the start before even looting anything, and the whole map is packed with hordes at close range. Maybe it was meant to be this difficult, but so far it's my only gripe with this megaWAD. Works great with PBv2.03, and custom texture packs work great with it. 8/10.
A downright masterpiece. Easily the best megawad/campaign ever created for classic DOOM.
I've been playing this with Final Doomer Plus, it's an excellent combination!

I'm not saying this is the best megawad ever, but it's the best megawad ever.
Doom retrowave drive
Well.. lets just put it this way. If you like constant unfair ambushes when you interact with switches or get keys, this megawad is for you. If you are looking for a more refined, less basic gameplay flow, there are better megawads you can spend your time with.
The game is pretty though.
I can't imagine who is the jerk who put a Cyberdemon on MAP01. What did you do, ask a 13 year old for advice on monster placement?
