Cancelling the Wyoming Project: Rise of the Great Khanate

As you’ve probably noticed I recently made an announcement a couple of days ago explaining some of the problems our team was facing and our urgent need for writers. Whilst, I received many great applications and I was more than excited to get our problems sorted and start working on the storyline there were some unforeseen developments in my personal life that are forcing me to promptly step down from project lead. Trust me when I say that cancelling this project is not an easy decision and is not related with the difficulties of working on such a large project. I have devoted countless hours into it and I had no desire whatsoever to give up the project under any circumstance. I was even willing and prepared to continue working on it entirely by myself if that was necessary. Which is why this is an incredibly hard decision for me.

However, like I mentioned before, due to some unforeseen personal life obligations I am not able to remain as project lead or work in the project at any capacity. I don’t want to get very specific publicly about the reasons I have to step down, but rest assured that I have no choice in the matter and there is absolutely no way for me to remain as I will have to be absent for a period of several months starting this November.

Whilst we discussed internally the possibility of continuing with another project lead, I’ve decided that it’s fairer to cancel the project now than have it die an extremely slow death over my long absence. While this is an incredibly sad development, it’s not all for vain. Most of our team members will be working on a new project under the leadership of Calderiaan (Ospreyhawk) whilst some will be moving on to other excellent projects such as Fallout: Cascadia, with which we have been closely cooperating over the last months. Moreover, we are examining the possibility of releasing our internal build as a modder’s resource, although this is still undetermined at this time.

I want to thank every one of you for following us and supporting us over the last few months and sincerely apologize for not being able to deliver on our promises. If you’re looking for something to fill the gap of Project Wyoming make sure to check Fallout Cascadia.

Sincerely Atlas

I'm sorry to hear that. This was looking to be one of the more promising projects for Fallout 4.

Good luck with everything, and I hope that you come back to mod development in the future if possible.

All the best,
Urby

Very sad. Hope everything gets better for you. That's more important than any mod.
